PPv numbers for the Mayweather vs Mosely garnered 1.4million. 2 americans in their homeland. While Pacman who is a foreigner who fought cotto (a foreigner as well) who is just as popular as mosely got 1.3 million ppv.

So I would say based on popularity their both equals knowing pac cotto are both foreigners and getting those huge numbers.

Mayweather keeps on saying it was him not Delahoya who made the 2.4 million record for ppv now we know it was really DELAHOYA who had all the fans- 2.4million.

Note: Mosely owns the gate for number of attendance in the staple center. It shows how big a draw he is.

Plus, don't forget that there are "no" 24/7 and huge marketing, commercials for the Pacquiao Clottey fight.

24/7 and commercials where done only for the Mayweather, Mosely and Pacquiao Cotto fight.

De La Hoya's biggest PPV event before Mayweather was 1.4 million. So you are trying to convince us that this guy you claim was over the hill when he fought Mayweather was suddenly able to draw an additional 1 million PPV by himself against a nobody in Floyd when he could only draw 1.2 million PPV against the greatest boxing hero of all time in Manny Pacquaio. Pac/Clottey didn't have a 24/7 show because everyone, including HBO knew it it was a crappy fight that no one gave a damn about. If Pac fights Margarito, he won't get a 24/7 show either.

Floyd should get the bigger cut because one floyd is the bigger draw and is the one that is going to do most of the promoting for the fight.

For the people that are mad that manny didnt get a 24/7 for the clottey fight you cant blame floyd you need to take it up with HBO.

When floyd fights these are the people that buy the fights:
1. His fans
2. His opponent's fans
3. General Boxing fans
4. His haters that just want to see him lose.

Manny only attracts the first three.

If you hold samples 2 and 3 constant you can consistently see that mayweather's fans and haters out number manny's fans when it comes to purchasing ppvs.

Please remember that I said WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING PPVS, I dont know who is more popular in the rest of the world but I do know where people are willing to pay 60 plus to see someone fight.

First of all, Cotto represent Puerto Rico not USA. As mayweather represents USA, Pac Philippines, Julio Cesar Chaves mexico. Even if you say mexico is a territory of usa Julio Cesar Chaves represents Mexico not usa.

HBO ppv is an american boadcasting network, american viewers who are paying to watch in there homeland.

Yes, boxing fans watch not because of race. But there are viewers who wanted to be entertained and that are not boxing fans who are the ones that brings up ppv numbers.

Such as DLH viewers are 80% women who don't no **** about boxing but love him coz his an attraction, and he is handsome and has been embraced by the american viewing public coz he is living and america and is an american citizen. Pacquiao, Hatton are gods in their homeland. In the Philippines alone no one is working when there is a Pacquiao fight. That's where nationalistic pride comes out.

Just to clear something up, theres not a lot of boxing fans. Boxing fans alone won't bring up ppv. The average tv viewer who will get ****** in because of hype will bring up ppv even if he doesn't no **** about boxing.

An average american viewer who would want to be entertained would want the next best thing so if they hear that an American boxer is doing sensationally well even if there not a boxing they would watch it to find out who this american guy being talked about.

To get Huge PPV you need more than boxing fans you need average tv viewers who don't no **** about boxing and just want to be entertained. Like DLH viewers who where 80% american women just because he is handsome and a good boxer they find him entertaining to watch.

Pac had to fight clottey in a 2months notice coz may backed out of the fight. He fought the 4th best in the welterweight division who was only avialable at the moment. coz may, mosley was unavailable. Clottey was next in line.

HBO knew clottey ain't worth 24/7 and huge advertising he wasn't that marketable.
