You'd think all these guys at 140 would be queuing up to fight Amir Khan. He's the biggest payday in that division by far, and the only thing i can read from that interview is that Bradley doesn't want to fight Alexander unless he's heavily compensated for it which i'm not gonna give him a pass on.
Considering Bradley vs. Alexander is the fight between the division's clear 2 best guys, it's understandable for one or both of them to want to build the fight up to its best dollar potential by clearing the division up some more first.
Also, Bradley's been taking on real tests and showing a variety of looks in overcoming them up to now with no real picking and choosing (Maidana's team is running from him as we speak), and Alexander's getting in on the act, too - meanwhile, Khan's opponents have all been selected for safety, and, far from putting him in one of these juicy prime for prime matchups with any of the division's other top young guns, Schaefer has every intention of continuing that by matching him with the Marquez-Diaz II winner, calculating on the age and shopwear of a blown-up, veteran name to make him the next stepping-stone in the building of the Khan brand.
In short, WTF are you talking about?Comment

They do want a crack at Khan - Bradley and Alexander have both come out and said they want to kick his ass. There's a rumor that Maidana can't go near Khan for at least a year as part of his contract from the Cayo fight.

But Khan must fight everyone immediately and should not have gotten a chance to build his (Paulie fight)?
Also...Alexander and Bradley have been in the division way longer than Amir and their resumes arent THAT good.Comment

The people trying to defend the Khan side of things in here are so wrongheaded it's not even funny.
If Bradley's a duck,
WTF is Khan?
A duckling?

I've tried to do everything I can to give this **** bag a pass, but I can't. And here everybody built his ass up as this take on all comers warrior and avoided fighter like Paul Williams and he goes off and says **** like this. I can't stand the guy. I even said before that I understood that he maybe needed one winnable fight on HBO to get that audience familiar with him, but he has made it clear that he has no intentions of fighting Devon Alexander ever. And he even admitted that he was his biggest threat at the same time.Comment

Chunk, I'm not getting lemon with you - I just think you Khan guys are nuts.
So Bradley and Alexander are allowed to duck each other and build their names up?

Those 2 guys aren't exactly veterans compared to Khan, but have been getting busy adding (in Tim's case) and starting to add (in Devon's) a variety of solid tests to their ledgers with little in the way of careful selection, and so far they've been passing with flying colors, that's the point.
If you want to break down the pros and cons of all Bradley's opposition vs. all Khan's (starting in the Roach era, naturally), we can do that, and -- while your opinion may be that Tim's body of work since stepping up isn't all that, and you're entitled to it -- if you don't see a gulf in difficulty level in what he's achieving as opposed to what Khan's doing, you've got blinkers on.
If Tim's body of work isn't all that, then Khan's is straight papery, even allowing that he's had less fights at 140 - Kotelnik is his best win, since I'm not one of those who ever thought Malignaggi's win over a battle-torn Diaz at practically 140 (when Diaz is somewhat blown-up at 135) represented a return to the peak of his powers.
Khan is going to be placed with Marquez next (or after the July fight Khan will be expected to win, anyway), not Maidana. They're going to calculate on the age and shopwear of a blown-up, veteran name and make him the next stepping-stone in building up the Khan brand.
If that turns out not to be the case and Khan fights Maidana in the Fall, I will happily eat my words.
And he doesn't have to "fight everyone immediately". 2 of them want to fight him and kick his ass, one of them would do, but he isn't going near either of them anytime soon (when I say he, I'm not saying this is solely his personal decision).
The other immediate dangerman in his division is in the same stable as him, and, strong rumor has it, was contracted to stay away from Khan for at least the next year as part of the deal for his last fight.
See what I'm saying? Khan's isn't the defensible side of this argument.Comment

If a tournament is set up, it's going to be set up so Khan comes out on top. Plain and simple, you are not big enough and are in no position to call the shots. Bradley, just like Hopkins in the middleweight tournament, your only option is to play the role of spoiler.Comment

Khan hasn't fought anybody who wasn't selected for safety.

Bradley - Witter, Cherry, Life n Death with Kendall Holt, NC with Nate Campbell, Petersen
Alexander - Quitter and Urango
Khan - Kotelnik, Salita, Malignaggi
Selected for safety? Kotelink was champ, Salita was mando. Paulie was selected to build Khans name in the US, something you give Bradley the right to do despite him already being known in the US?Comment
