BoxingScene.com was advised by boxing agent Sampson Lewkowicz, that WBO-interim lightweight champion Michael Katsidis is 100% focused on landing the winner of the upcoming rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz, which takes place on July 31 in Las Vegas. Marquez is the full WBO champion at lightweight. [Click Here To Read More]

katsidis been chasing that 135 belt for a long time and if he wants to give himself one more chance before going up to 140 then it makes sense

Juan Diaz shook him up. Yes, Marquez won that fight by knocking Diaz out but don't pretend it was an easy fight for him.

While Khan is improving, Katsidis is improving still. They may fight each other down the road, I just think its smart to not take the fight just yet. If Khan builds his name up a bit then the fight would make even more sense.

Good. Now isn't the right time for neither Kats nor Khan to face each other. They have bigger things they need to take care of at 135 and 140 respectively, rather than risk facing each other and dropping their standing within the rankings.

A fight with Khan would probably make more money for Kats, but I'm glad he (seems to have) rejected that temptation in favour of a more meaningful fight in his own weight class - and I don't care as to whether he faces Marquez or Diaz, as long as it's the winner.

The more I think about Marquez/Diaz, the more I think its a 50/50 fight. Their first fight was dead-even until Diaz got KTFO. Would be something if Katsidis and Diaz faced off again.
