I like Berto, but he still sounds just a little tentative in asking for the big names. From just the headline, I was expecting him to REALLY be callin' somebody out. Whatever...they seem to be moving him in a similar way to how the Goosens moved Andre Ward, and as we've seen lately, that ain't a bad thing.

Andre Berto really lost to collazo, and won over quintanna. I dont think his resume is fit to face either Manny or FLoyd. I think its an insult to even mention these guys names in the same sentence as berto or williams. Theres a lot of fighters out there that he didnt mention like, Bradley, alexander, Khan etc. Lets get some fights made!

i love it when a grown man, a prize fighter at that, still asks for Mom's permission! if he didn't need mommy's permission when he started boxing, certainly he doesn't it now.
manny just honoring her mom!! honor yours!!!

Why would he call out fighters one division below him not to mention he's the WBC WW champ(147lbs) not the WBC JWW champ(140). He already fought Urango who is a career 140lb'er and got alot of flack for that. So tell me why would he call out champions from a division BELOW him? Is that acceptable behavior for a Champ who has not unified his division or has not claimed lineage?

i really liked berto initially, his speed & explosiveness was elite-level...
but once he started taking on REAL contenders & veterans, he started letting me down... the holding, the gassing out, the jittery anxiousness... he needs more polishing before he deserves an opportunity at an elite fighter.

i felt collazo was robbed... urango & quintana were solid wins, but didnt amaze me the way he used to... berto needs to step to a cintron caliber fighter first. LOL. also, it would be cool to see him drop to 140 and mix it up with all the prospects (although he is a THICK WW, he might not be able to drop).

i think the current top WW are too much for him...

it sucks because berto is in a tough spot... he is being overlooked by elite WWs.... he would be lucky to catch shane now (i think shane could STILL put a whooping on berto). and no way is berto going after p-will, cotto, clottey, etc.... i just dont see it happening. although its a stretch for berto to move down, its the more active division... i wouldnt criticize berto if he dropped weight to join 140s...
