        Good Riddance

I don't know if Malinglagi is reading comments from readers of Boxing Scene. If he does he won't say he got a good fan base, most of the comments published are mostly showing dislike for Malinglagi. People were just showing disrespect for Malinglagi due to his arrogance and disrespect of other fellow boxers. Just like what the golden rule says "Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you"....and for Amir Khan's accomplishment, GOOD JOB. It is a good riddance.

When he hangs them up, he'll be remembered and missed by real boxing fans.

You don't count among that number, which makes your lack of respect for the man inconsequential.

          *****.

It'll be good riddance when Pac gets handled by Mayweather and you vanish from this site.

Dude sounded real sincere about everything he had 2 say. People still wanna talk **** about no1 remembering his career, about him losing or how he has no power or whatever but Malignaggi lived a life that half of ya losers talking **** about him, dream about. Fighting for a World Title as the Main Event on an HBO telecast??? Gimme a break man, Paulie wasn't that good of a fighter but let'em rock right now.

75% of the ones talking trash are Pacman fangirls smarting still and trying to take vengeance 'cause Paulie said a meany about their idol.

If Paulie had never been involved in the whole P.E.D.'s furore, they wouldn't have **** to say about the dude.

Yeah I know, Paulie said what he thought and what was on his mind. I can see why they would take offense but their idol is the 1 that made the cloud even bigger by being scared of needles. I give Pacquiao the benefit of the doubt though, he's never failed any drug tests.

"You should miss him as a fighter, man, I think you're crazy unfair to Paul's style - a peak Malignaggi was a lot of fun to watch and could still be when matched right. I don't wanna get too deep into it because I won't be able to do so without being tempted to rip apart the styles of fighters you've praised who I think are way overrated, insubstantial promotional shucks, like Dirrell, or, contrastingly, Kirkland, so I'll just leave it there."

There's just something about his style that I just find incredibly off-putting. Too much footwork, and not enough commitment to punches and combinations beside the jab. Even in fights he's looked good in, N'dou 1, Diaz fights, and to a certain extent the Cotto fight, I just can't get on board. Even when he punches in combinations, I just see a sloppyness to it. Probably not his fault, down to his hands, but still.

You might say Dirrell has taken the piss with the lateral movement, such as the Stevens and Froch fights, but I just love his fluid combinations and speed. I know you think he's flakey but he's gone up against two hard-as-nails, undefeated fighters in AA and Froch, and come out the other side as the better fighter in both, IMHO. I think he's the real deal.

Btw, I would never argue against anyone who thought Kirkland was overrated and lacked quality. Kirkland was a fun fighter who came to destroy. A watered-down, much-less skilled JMW version of Tyson. And sometimes, I want that.

I like Pavlik, whose style is stodgy and kinda ugly. I love Pac, whose style, let's face it, is not the most technically sound. I like slick fighters like Toney, Sweet Pea, and I admire the **** out of Floyd in the ring. There's not a single style I love, but I just need to have a visual and emotional response to it.

With Paulie, I just can't connect to it. Maybe it's the lack of power, and with it, the knowledge of punches with little bad intentions. Part of it is, I just don't think Paulie is a top quality fighter. I know you'll disagree but that's my opinion. Lots of guts and a big heart but ultimately, not a great boxer. Not at elite level anyway.

I hope he fights again to finish off his career in a better way but regardless he was a good fighter with skills...he went far for someone who really didn't have much punching power...

He'll always be a name in the New York Metro area...

I've liked Paulie ever since the Cotto fight. He just has the type of guts you don't expect from looking at the guy.

I still think he has something to offer. Sure he got beat by Khan, but I think he can still beat or hang with some top opposition at 140.
