As much as i want to see a Pacvs.Marquez @ 140, at this point and time it is really unnecessary. Marquez is a great champion but competing above LW with elites is a no-no. I reckon Amir Khan would outbox him @ 140 right now. He should have one more fight @ LW and retire off into the sunset.

Pacquiao can still make 140 easily, he is a natural light welterweight. At his fight against Clottey, he didn't even weigh in the full 147, he came in at 145 or less. Will Pacquiao succumb to Marquez's demands? That's a totally different question. However, when these 2 fought, Pacquiao only had a left hand, now his arsenal is loaded from every angle of both hands. It's going to be a totally different fight, whether at 140 or 147, Marquez is still going to lose. I prefer this fight happen at 140 for the sake of boxing and not blowing a guy up too much in weight (the extra weight really showed in Marquez vs Mayweather), plus Manny is faster at 140. Now should Manny fight Juan, I wouldn't mind seeing it if the fight with Floyd doesn't come through, it's going to be interesting only b/c it's a trilogy...
But Marquez shouldn't be demanding a 50/50 split (as I've read before), that's just not going to make the fight happen.

I don't think he should go there. It's been quite a while since they last fought and I think Manny has excelled in skill and style way above and beyond what JMM has achieved since then. Manny would bust him up.

BTW I hope that if Floyd vs Pac doesn't happen, that Pac would go down to 135 and face Marquez for his ring belts. If I had it my way, that is the fight I would like to see happen next.

Hey O, you know I like reading your posts but really? 135? That seems way too extreme... after all, it is Juan calling out Pac, who is the biggest money out there next to Floyd for a reason. Pac going down 10 pds. or more would be as ludicrous as JMM coming up 10 pds. or more for that fight IMO. Could you imagine JMM agreeing to fight FMJ but only if he came down to 135? Would have never happened, and for good reason.
Personally, I would love to see this fight if the Pac/FMJ fight doesn't happen. IMO it's the only fight out there he has left to prove himself (if at all) besides FMJ. However, according to latest reports, Manny has only one fight left....so if the FMJ fight doesn't happen I think it would be fair to meet somewhere in the middle around 140 or a little above.

Again, when did they say that? Do you have a link to the latest quote of them saying that? I'm not being funny, I really don't know. My guess is though that it was some time ago.

i do feel that jmm gives paq fits in the ring, he needs to get over it. that ship has sailed. paq much like mw has positioned himself to pick and choose. paq vs. mw needs to happen. while not a fan of either mw wins a landslide. to many flaws in paqs game to handle a true technican like mw.
