i'm ignorant to the back-story on this one can someone fill me in? a close fight like JMM-PAC 1 should warrented a rematch right away.
Serious Question: Why did it take four years for JMM-PAC 2 to happen?

Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera were the stars of the featherweight division at the time and JMM was always pushed aside because of his style.
The bigger picture for Manny at the time was to beat Morales first- because he felt he got robbed(they forced him to do 2 blood tests right before the fight and he couldn't wear the puncher gloves he wanted- he had to use the 10oz pillow gloves Morales preferred.) Morales was also the much more exciting and more popular fight because they were certain wars.. that's why there was a trilogy. So he had a tune up fight, rematched Morales, had some more tune up fights and had another rematch with Morales.
Then Barrera wanted a rematch with Pacquiao, so he had another tune up fight and then he fought Barrera.
After all that was out of the way, The only redemption left was JMM, and after Marquez was when he began his ascent into Welterweight.Comment

Why do people keep saying this? Why isn't Erik Morales given ANY credit for beating Manny the first time? All we hear is excuses about this or that. Give EM his credit for beating Manny.Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera were the stars of the featherweight division at the time and JMM was always pushed aside because of his style.

How are you gonna be a coach if you can't read and interpret?
