i actually though Baldimir was a very unorthodox and awkward fighter......i seem to recall Floyd saying that to Ellerbe btw rds aswell..... when Ellerbe was telling Floyd to go to the body and Floyd was having difficulty doing that.........the problems Floyd had with Tata early is prob why he later hired him as a sparring partner........

I agree, Baldomir was a very aukward strong fighter. It's funny that people look down on him but he was the Undisputed Welterweight champion at the time, Nobody had beaten him in 9 years and Floyd did it with relative ease. So I think he deserves more credit for that win than he gets. People look down on Baldomir

But thats to do with the politics of boxing. People look at how many losses the guy has and assume he is a poor fighter. He wasnt an elite fighter, I would say he is simular to Glen Johnson in that he struggled early on in his career but worked hard and fine tuned his skills to the point of becoming undisputed champion.
