Maidana has a punchers chance, that's about it.

He also has that he is relentless, dude keeps comming and doesn't get dis-incouraged. He will test the heart and endurance for as long as he is in the fight. He is not a puncher that waits around to land his power, he goes for it. I still think Khan beats him after seeing the great jab that seemed to get better as the fight went along

    • Khan's jab looked good because of Paulie's hit man stance, had that been more of an protective stance it wouldn't of looked all that great.

      • Good fight to watch , is hard to make a prediction b/c they both have good chances but we can´t forget the fact that, when a good boxer faces a power puncher, the pure boxer always wins. The question remaining is Amir khan good enough to outbox Maidana?

I have quit debating the haters. As soon as i see one, i don't even open their threads, I'll copy that name and use quick ignore on them, simple as that.

They did the same to every Mayweather opponent: First he needs to fight them because they are this and that, then they are either too old, too slow or not even in the same class. The same ******ed people will create alts in a ****** attempt to not look ******.

That said, Khan is going places. His chin will improve a little bit as he gets older (he didn't even stopped growing yet!) and he already have great speed and power.

Rubbish. Julian Jackson sparked plenty of good boxers, including Terry Norris and Herrol Graham. Saddler beat arguably the greatest pure boxer of all time, Willie Pep, three times out of four. La Motta beat Robinson, who many people rate as the greatest all round boxer of all time, in their second fight. Tyson destroyed Spinks. Foreman destroyed Norton and knocked out Moorer. There are hundreds of other examples of power punchers beating good boxers.

Kotelnik got hit plenty by Maidana, and only survived because he has a good chin, whereas Khan's chin is suspect. Kotelnik also has a tighter defence than Khan, although Khan's defence is improving with every fight. Kotelnik was lucky to get the decision against Maidana. It was very close in the opinion of every fight reporter, and a majority of fight reports scored it narrowly to Maidana. Maidana is an intense pressure fighter with a high workrate, who always finds a way to land some of his power punches cleanly. Khan can outbox him, but only if he follows a perfect game plan, and even then, his suspect chin will be tested far more than it has been in any fight since the Prescott debacle. Anyone who thinks this will be an easy fight for Khan is an idiot. Roach knows better. He said "it's an extremely dangerous fight for Amir", and made sure Maidana was paid to step aside when the WBA had said Khan had to fight him or vacate.

Everyone is aware of his limitations but a lot more people overlook his qualities, including you. He is far more than just a big puncher. He's an intense pressure fighter who can beat more skilled fighters than himself due to the pressure he puts them under. A bit like Froch, although he has a bigger punch P4P than Froch does, and he's better at cutting off the ring than Froch is.

He was also knocked down and badly hurt by Willie Limond, a feather-fisted journeyman who has only stopped 8 opponents out of 33 wins. Several other journeymen have also knocked him down. So if you really think the Prescott defeat was a fluke and that he has a good chin, you've got your head way up in the clouds and need to come back to earth.

It's true that his defence has improved a lot since then, but he hasn't fought anyone who can punch since he lost to Prescott, and until he does, the jury will be out over whether he can cope with any top 10 fighter who can punch hard.

You can have a weak chin and still get in the Hall of Fame. Terry Norris, Tommy Hearns and Roy Jones, are just three examples. But Khan has, and probably always will have, a weak chin. The only question is whether he can develop an effective enough style to compensate for that weakness. So far so good - he has certainly improved dramatically with every fight under Roach - but until he fights someone who can punch, the jury will be out on whether he can cut it against big punchers; and anyone who pretends otherwise is completely delusional.

                    • He's only saying that now because of Maidana's injury. But once Maidana gets healthy, watch Khan go back on his words. Watch.
