If Don King has a legitimate contract with Mayorga I'm not sure how everyone can get pissed at this. If the courts say the contract with Mayorga is legit, I don't see any problem with this fight being canceled. They were warned enough ahead of time to know he wasn't kidding.

As a fan of combat sports I have a problem with it. A decent card was just cancelled over a dispute. King isn't getting Mayorga any fights in boxing (him supposedly getting Mayorga a fight with Sturm is highly unlikely) and I'm not sure how the contract can possibly carry over to MMA, a different sport.

Don King has ruined many fighters over the years by keeping them inactive under his contract. I don't see why boxing fans shouldn't have a problem with it.

I think Shine Fights is to blame too for not clearing up the issue with King in time. It's just a terrible situation for everyone involved, especially the fighters who were looking forward to getting paid, not just Mayorga or Thomas but the undercard fighters too.
