    The best offense in boxing

Since I am precluded from posting in the other thread, the best offense in boxing doesn't have 5 stoppages in his 14 fights above 130 pounds. Sorry.

Excellent accuracy and +/- % (by virtue of perhaps the best defense in boxing in combination with the aforementioned.)

But best offense? No, just no.

i wouldn't say best offense in boxing either.

floyd offense is great for his style i wouldn't recommend a lot of boxers try to fight similar to floyd unless they have his defense an skills.

Like I said, he's extremely accurate and is able to win fights (most of which go the distance at these higher weights) with his low punch output due to his magnificent defense.

Were he willing to take more of a risk getting hit, his offense could be much, much better, but he's not.

I look at Floyd the same way I look at Haye or Adamek. If you're going to be less exciting at the higher weights, FFS, please move back down.

But if the main objective with your offense is to secure the win and, of course, Mayweather has been very successful on that end, wouldn't that make the case for him?

Almost everything goes hand in hand, so it's really hard to say. Even when talking about Mayweather's offense you have to bring his great defense into the equation.

join club ts, no ceiling is a big baby......and i agree , saying floyd has the best offense is like saying margo has the best defense....floyd does'nt have much in his arrsenal to literally destroy his oppopnets with his puncehs,no combos , not much powr either, ....it good , but defeintelty the best!

First of all, outta my thread. Secondly, you're lack of comprehension is astounding.

If he didn't have the best defense in the game, his output wouldn't be enough to win every fight, and we don't know yet if his defense would suffer if his output increased, so no.

If I throw one punch a round and land it, but my defense is so good that I never get hit, I'm going to have a hard time convincing people I have the best offense in the game, especially when most people go the distance.

Paul Williams has a better argument for better offense, despite his land % being atrocious, because he wins fights in spite of having a fairly poor defense. Hell for the most part, his offense is his defense.

Who do you think has the best offense in boxing Jim?

I don't want to hear Pacquiao, because power and/or speed doesn't make the best offense.

Abraham has a ton of power but can't hit the broad side of a barn if he fights someone mobile. Paulie has a ton of speed but can't hurt a fly.

The best offense should have everything that makes an offense great. Power, speed, accuracy, effective combinations.

So who is it, in your opinion Jim?
