Why do some people think Shane still has the WBA title?

It may have not been on the line for Mayweather but if Shane lost then he lost the title also.

WBA Super World welterweight title not on the line for Mayweather; only for Mosley.

    I do believe it's vacant.

Still don't understand why FLOYD wouldn't want to have the belt. I mean, at the end adding another belt does enhance your legacy. The guy made like $40+ million a sanctioning fee cant be THAT bad.

He says belts collect dust, well then why did he turn down $8 million to fight Margartio and instead fight Baldy because Baldy had a belt? Does not compute.

One could argue that since he was trying to get a fight with Oscar, acquiring that belt would have made him more of a meaningful win for Oscar's legacy regardless at the weight it was fought at. Adding a belt does add to your name when you're trying to get to the top.

I can see it both ways

Floyd has to pay the 300k ... really thats nothing to him!! So i dont see that a big deal

But they probably would have made him a mandatory against some up and comer which he not gonna fight

But why not add another belt? I would have. *** it.

He fought Baldy because he was the lineal WW champ.

Floyd didn't want the belt because he doesn't want to defend it upon the commissions request. He wants to fight when he gets ready and with whom he chooses.

Baldy had the ring belt also because he beat Judah. People back then were criticizing Floyd for fighting Judah instead of the man who beat him.

The only belt Ive ever seen Floyd take pride in fighting for is the WBC belt

well that thought crossed my mind too but there are a couple things with that: for one it's mayweather, I'm sure he could get away with fight pacquiao lol. Two, if they gave him a mandatory he didn't want, then that's the time to vacate the belt. Your not forced to fight.
