As A Chad Dawson Fan, I Agree With His "Haters"

Here is the thing with Dawson. First the Pascal injury is the reason why it won't happen until August. Not Dawson fault.

But, he is an HBO fighter. You guys have to understand that when you're a HBO fighter you only get the dates that HBO will give you. HBO has a budget and they will not go over it.

That is why as soon as you sign a contract with HBO you will only fight one or two times a year. The only way you get more than 3 tv dates on HBO is if you're with Golden Boy or Al Haymon. If you don't have their backing forget about being an active fighter with an HBO contract.

So the criticism of Dawson not being active enough is not warranted. He can't do anything about it. Unless you blaming him for having an HBO contract or blaming him for not being a Golden Boy or Al Haymon fighter.

If anything you guys should be blaming Ross Greenburg and HBO not Dawson.

Although his style is not exactly pleasing to the casuals but I think guys like Pascal and Cloud will make him look fantastic. He'll embarrass them both.

Wouldnt count on Dawson embarassing them. Cloud is a stylistic nightmare for Dawson, a young undefeated pressure fighter with power and a high workrate, Dawson will really need to be on his toes if he were to ever fight him. Pascal has some pop and speed to match but hes not that great defensively because he relies on his atletic skills.

Pascal's injury when it comes to Dawson being inactive is irrelevant in a way because Dawson's contract with HBO from what I understand only offers him two fights a year. I don't even know if he's allowed to fight on another network in between those fights. I try to put myself in the guy's shoes.

What I didn't understand was how he waited on Pascal to heal up from this shoulder injury when it appeared that Cloud was healthy and ready to fight him of course until Cloud suffered supposedly a hamstring injury and signed with King along with the Johnson fight being postponed further which also killed a lot of Cloud's buzz with hardcore fans following his win over Woods.
