Item #2 - Being fighter of the Decade and Floyd being favored to win IF they ever fought are two totally different things.....Floyd being the betting favorite, Floyd being the Supreme Technician (which is not debatable) and Floyd having an undefeated record are all out the door and the defeat at the hands of Manny will be that much more sweeter......

Sidenote.....Pacquiao was also the underdog in the majority of his fights....yet he found a way and thus earned FOTD....don't sleep on Pac....he's proven people wrong time and time again....
**** that 145 isnt a weightclass, and many opposed that BS. Cotto took the fight because he knew he would make by far the most money than any other fight. But he didnt want the title on the line if i recall, they FORCED him. Thus Manny won yet another made up BS belt to make his career and win look better than what it is.

No theyr not total differnt things. Floyd and Manny are at the moment in the same weightclass. They have fought similar opponents and altho Manny beat them more impressively(those reasons are another topic by itself) disregarding the Marquez fight. So why would the fighter of the decade be the underdog against Floyd. The fighter of the decade is supposed to be the best fighter of the decade not the best if Floyds not around.

Yes Manny has proved he can win if hes the underdog....when hes fighting an old past prime/part time fighter, somone who has not made that weight in 10 years..

The guy to beat since the 90s right when not many had really even thought of him as a real player at all on the world class scene until he beat Corrales in 2001.

That was his real coming out party where ppl really started to take notice of him and even then he wasn't THEE man to beat until a few more years.

and all that crap. But the truth is , Floyd Mayweather has been the guy to beat since the 90's. Real boxing fans know this.

No matter what you say or what Pac does in his career, he can not
be considered the best until he fights and beats Mayweather. Mayweather is the best.
Thats why he is favored in all of his fights. He will also be favored against Pacquaio.

Frazier was the champ, but he wasn't the peoples champ. Ali was the peoples champ and Frazier had to beat him in ordrer to get full recognition as heavyweight champ.

It's the same thing all over again. Pacquaio is the P4P champ, but Mayweather is the peoples champ. You can call me a ***** or whatever you want, but it is what it is.

Mayweather has been dominating his entire career. No one would be shocked if Mayweather beat Pacquiao. If Pacquiao was to beat Mayweather, that would be a shock. Pacquiao was out boxed by Morrales and knocked out twice. Had two blood wars with Marquez and has been on the canvas several times. Mayweather has never been beat and his only knock downs were from his glove touching the canvas.

Mayweather vs Mosley was a master piece by Floyd, but all anyone wants to talk about was the 2nd round. That was the big news. Floyd got hurt.
We are not suprised when Manny gets hurt because he always gets hurt.
Floyd is the guy to beat and you know it.

Hopefully the fight can get made. Will Pacquiao step up to the plate
and challenge the very best fighter of this era, or will he continue to hold on to this false p4p status that he was given but did not earn?

Great post! You kept it real.

Larry Merchant is a wolf faced lie!

Chico Corrales was the #1 Jr. Lightweight when Floyd fought him. Jose Castillo was the #1 Lightweight when Floyd fought him. Ricky Hatton was the #1 ranked Jr. Welterweight when Floyd fought him at Welterweight. JMM was the #1 Lightweight when Floyd fought him at a Jr. Welter catchweight. Oscar De La Hoya was the #1 Jr. Middleweight when Floyd fought him. Shane Mosley was the #1 Welterweight when Floyd fought him.

Larry Merchant can eat a d*ck!

so basically, Floyd has made 2 fighters fight outside of their weight class just like Pacquiao has, but its just bad when pacquiao does it?

Same old tired propaganda based on the same old twisted truths (got beat by Morales, forgot to mention the rematch), blah, blah, blah. Floyd is not the poeples champ, he is the peoples chump. And this "real boxing fan" **** is just pathetic, really pathetic. That is like saying fans of the New England Patriots are not really football fans because they were a high flying offence (exciting to watch, such as Paq.) instead of grinding it out on the ground (not so exciting, such as Floyd). Really, what are Floyds fans going to do when he retires? Stop watching boxing and just watch reruns of his fights?

No. Both Pac and Floyd are normally smaller than their opponents. So when they decide to fight smaller guys from time to time, I don't have a problem with it.
