He didn't do anything to clottey, clottey was there to lose and I honestly believe that there was some foul play in the setting up of that fight. Hatton and Cotto were catch weights and damaged. He gets very minimal props for those wins. When he beats somebody that has a head of steam in their career and that is a real threat without the steroids then he gets props. Shid, its sad that he was going after margorito, which will be another fighter he faces that is not coming off of a significant win but yet a devastating loss. Just like hatton and cotto.
Tic for tac argument. He's not my boy, I do however respect what he has been able to accomplish. Clottey has been competitive with everyone he had/has ever stepped into the ring with. He was completely outclassed by a naturally smaller guy, that's a first. Hatton was knocked out by Mayweather but in the early going was slightly competitive, against Pac he was blitzed. Cotto was competitive against everyone he had ever faced, the 145 catch weight wasn't the issue, he would have lost regardless. At some point you look at the stars and future HOF's on Pac's resume and he deserves a lot of credit. I can argue your exact same point and claim that Mayweather only now faced an elite welterweight who coincidentally happened to be 38 years old....and if you choose to rebut that contention you would be going against your own point.

prior, floyd fights a 135lb jmm then comes in over the contractural agreement... jmm has no chance, none, hits mayweather with a straight right and didnt even phase him. no chance for jmm.

floyd fights zab after zab loses to baldomir, brian kenny calls him out and floyd gets heated saying zab is the ww champ, kenny tells him he is a paper champ, floyd says he has the belt,

but now floyd wont fight an elite for a belt, because he dont like belts.

then he fights baldomir,---------do i have to comment about this?

so floyd can only be mad at himself, not the boxing fans.

if he fights sergio at 154 or paul williams who are both real threats then he would gain more respect.
i think he boxes pwill to death and the martinez fight would be more competitive because sergio is slick as well

pac will never happen, even tho i think may beats pac

my point is floyd brings this upon himself, if he wants to fight for money then cool, but dont come out and say you are the best ever when you wont fight the best.

he had a chance to fight an elite cotto, margacheato and shane, but didnt

he fought judah and baldomir one after the other, after they had fought each other, but the belts were split, so between them, one of them had to be the legit ww champ at the time. whichever one it was, he beat them both.
you're the exact kind of fan that will never give mayweather his dues, nothing he does will be good enough.
read my previous post on this thread about not fighting margarito, cotto etc. whats he supposed to do? go on a mission to clear out every half decent opponent in his division?? thats what you believe isn't it? thats so naive and blinkered. all road lead to mayweather.

Yet that welter weight that floyd fought is coming off of a significant win over another so-called (by you) elite welterweight. This is something manny has never done. I bet you can't argue against that one.

i said an elite cotto, nothing about margacheato being elite. however margacheato was in his prime.

Apparently Floyd called Shane out as an amatuer or something in like 1997, and Shane being the P4P king at that time and rejecting his offer constitutes a "duck"

I'm not arguing anything, you downgrade Pacs' accomplishments, yet anyone can turn around and point to the fact that Mosley had 5 losses on his record and was 38 years old by the time Mayweather got around to fighting him, you'll then turn around and call that person a "hater", like I said tic for tac circular argument. For each negative you listed regarding the opposition Pac has faced, I can best those negatives times 5 for each opponent Floyd had faced, keep in mind I think Floyd is the best boxer of the last 15 years.

mayweather is a brilliant boxer. he is the BEST boxer active right now.

he came back from that round two to dominate shane.

                much respect to floyd.

MY entire point is that floyd states he is the best ever, but has not attempted to beat the best.

therefore he has no reason to complain

he has brought this on himself.

he complained before the shane fight that when he wins that people will say shane is old and past his prime.

but HE choose to fight an old past his prime mosley.

                that is my point

why is this **** so hard to understand?

Shane was an elite WW, during his prime. Your arguement can be repeated in that Manny beat DLH, an elite fighter

Well said. That's exactly what I've said on numerous occasions. This is the truth and people need to face the truth.
I disagree on the elite Margacheato but I get what u mean. His elite came from his secret weapons. The rest are historic facts.

some people like to just come in here and argue.
