Floyd took the fight and beat the **** out of Mosley.
Oh please Mosley was never a PPV attraction, so why did Floyd want him early in his career if he wasnt.....We all know that if FLoyd fought Mosley at any point in the last 6 years it would have been a huge hit and PPV. But Floyd didnt take him.....like Merchant is saying that Floyd built a big name for himself concerning money, but he hasnt built it like Manny and others by fighting his toughest fights

The one thing i do take issue with is this:

Merchant thinks you have to be in wars and dramatic fights to be great.....and i don't believe that for a second.....it helps...but he mentioned sweet pea........he is top 15 on almost every ATG list......was he ever in dramatic fights??? No not really. If this was the "true" basis for greatness Arturo Gatti would be GOAT hands down.....but he's not.

Is it Mayweather fault these other guys can't force him into a "dog fight"??? The only fighter i think could have done it a few years back was Plaserito......or Shane if they fought at 135....but that wasn't going to happen...Shane was struggling to mae weight and moved up to make the real $$$ vs Oscar.

I think people need to give Floyd his credit....he deserves it......
good post, i think margs wouldve pushed floyd to his limits of greatness. we've never seen floyd fight a pressure fighter like margarito. i still think floyd wouldve beat him, but margs wouldve worn floyd out. no doubt about it.

        yeah those are great accomplishments

oh and i didnt even mention the draws on his record and the 2 knock out losses....

please tell me how that equates to fighting the best out there?
Hey how almost every boxing publication out there has Pac #1 idk, but they for some odd reason they still do....oh i figured out the reason, hes the best out there

wait..Mosley isnt nowhere near the fighter that Floyd is, how was he able to deal with this awesome pressure from Margarito?

Pac is not beating the best at their best. pac is a fraud of epic proportions. A fraud and a drug user.
The expectations for Pac were different, those fights were expected to at the very least be competitive, since he was new to those weight classes. What he did against Hatton,Cotto and then Clottey surprised many. He was able to carry both his speed and power against naturally bigger men and knocking them off in fashion, that's impressive considering the weight classes he competed in less than 2 years ago.

Hey all that talk you do wont put ur daddy Floyd in Mannys position of being the #1 P4P fighter. Get over it already and just accept it. You dont get to be the #1 fighter by being a fraud, but i see a fraud as someone that doesnt pick thier toughest fights....FLOYD

The plaster Margarito would have Koed Floyd, the non plaster Margarito is zero, nothing but a feather fisted fighter, we all saw that in the Mosley fight and in his latest Garcia fight. Now the plasterless Margarito would have been beaten with ease by Floyd. The bad thing for Floyd would have been that the Margarito that wanted to fight him at that time was most probably loaded with those deadly weapons. Let's remember he almost tear that guy's ear off.
Good decision by Floyd, his lack of courage made him build this undefeated record.
