understandable, but we are saying as passionate boxing fans why we dislike his attitude and personality.

now look at the casual fan, they dont want anything to do with it.

then there are the outside fans looking in and decide to go to mma instead of boxing.

i feel it hurts the sport overall

floyd has not changed his style in his whole life, he has always been a boxer,

so it is obvious we are buying his fights to watch him box, not talk trash and to expect him to show up and fight like mike tyson

this is evidence enough that he can sell tickets by being the best and beating the best.

no casual fan bought his last fight because they expected him to show up like mike tyson or a young george foreman


my point is that he could carry the sport well, and make his money by representing the sport and bringing the popularity of it back to the casual fan while be respectful to those that paved the way for him

sure he can be ****y and arrogant, but his immature trash talking is overdone

I give you props on that and it was embarrassing for the sport indeed. It's just every causal fan I talk to only talks about wanting someone to shut him up. Sometimes I want Floyd to just shut up! We live in America and most people choose trash over class...

just cuz he states that he is the greatest, doesnt mean he went through what ali did... ali was a social figure, civil rights, his stance against war, nation of islam.... ali spoke for a reason. plus, ali was a smooth dude. the man had style and charisma. his quotes were classic....

Here's the thing if you were #1 p4p and you decided you didn't feel like fighting for a while so someone else came along, destroyed the people you had tough fights with, blew away another top contender in the same weight class and is declared the new #1 p4p fighter in the world if you have a problem with that because you feel you are still top dog then be a man and fight him. A champion doesn't start rumors with no basis to try to discredit someone else's career and use that as a way out of a fight...THE FIGHT, no he goes out to show the world why he was #1 in the first place. You can't take anything away from him for what he did to Mosley but that was marketing. He knew that was the only other fight that the boxing public would let him take to keep any credibility after he found a way out of the Pacquiao fight and it was the easier of the two(of course that plan almost backfired in the 2nd before Mosley decided that not throwing punches was the best way to win the fight). Either way I agree with everyone I only want to see the best fight the best and it's so rare that the number 1 and 2 p4p are in the same weight range that if it doesn't happen it's bull**** there is no excuse.

He said some pretty awful things about Frazier that DID nothing for race relations between black and white or even between blacks themselves light and dark. Im not challenging what you are saying I'd just like and example of what you see as different?

Where did I say Floyd is better or anything like ALI? I said he is trying to do what ALI did to sell fights and getting told the same things that ALI did. I believe I've followed ALI long enough to know who he was. He saw the pattern and is trying to follow it. I for one never said or even think they are on the same level as far as selling fights. I've even commented that he is NO ALI when it comes to that and some guys actually think he is but, that was their opinion.

Yes, Brother Naazim stole the show on 24/7 but how many people bought tickets to see Brother Naazim May 1st?

Good post! I think both fighters found away out of the fight. If they both wanted it so bad the fight would have been made. Honestly I think Manny wants to fight but, Roach wants to work on something with him first. I hope its how to fight going backwards.
