Indeed. I still have huge respect for him, but I thought he was a better man than that. It was a dishonourable thing to keep the guy waiting for 6 months, when he (or GBP) knew full well that Kats needs to stay active and gain recognition by means of world titles.

I just think Marquez couldn't be bothered with Katsidis - Diaz rematch obviously makes better business for him. Tough luck for Mike, but maybe he gets another shot at lightweight glory down the line if he beats up Mitchell.

The general consensus is that the July 31 rematch between Marquez and Diaz is a waste of time......Diaz isn't even ranked Top 10 in either Lightweight or Jr. Welterweight......Marquez blatantly snubbed Katsidis

So is Marquez purely fighting for money now and doesn't want to risk getting into the ring with the dangerous Katsidis??

assuming of course Katsidis gets past Mitchell
Kastidis sucks and he is barely known by most mexicans. On the other hand, most of the casual boxing fans who did not watch Marquez vs Diaz live and instead saw it on youtube, now they are willing to buy it thinking that it will be a war as well. Most of my friends at school and work would prefer to pay for MvsD 2 than watch MvsKatsidis, because the don't know katsidis.

Think it this way, if you have the opportunity to make 2 jobs, one easier that the other, and you get paid much more for the one that is easier, what would you choose?

I watched it and he seemed to have suddenly developed some 'slick' skills overnight, but prior to that he was an utter punchbag in the making. Worst regard for defence I'd ever seen, barring Froch.

I'm just disappointed that my dream Kats-Valero match never took place. :conf3:

Way Marquez no doubt sees it is he KO'd the two guys who beat Katsidis one after the other in their very next fights.

I actually respect Marquez rematching Diaz a whole lot. Not only was the first fight the best lightweight fight since Corrales-Castillo, but he's given a young guy a shot at avenging a bitter and humiliating knock-out in front of 16,000 hometown fans.

Thing is, Kats gave those 2 guys hell even though he lost. It could be said that Marquez went on to pick up his scraps, because he too was struggling with both of them until he somehow pulled out the stoppages.

Marquez moved up 2 weight classes to fight the #1 p4p fighter on the planet, but he is scared of a crude Australian slugger. Where the **** is the logic?

I was at Diaz-Katsidis and Juan didn't have any problems handling Kats. It was one of Juan's easier fights.

In which case, watch the HD version. They beat the **** out of each other, and Kats gave him pressure down the stretch.
