If it was Pac/Mosley that had done 1.4 million ppv buys, *******s would be busting a nut all over themselves. Since it's Mayweather they are not impressed.

It was the same as the pac cotto fight $54.99

Cotto is a bigger draw as a haedliner because of the Puerto-Rican fanbase.

But to the casual fan who tunes in to see an event and doesn't know about boxing, Mosley is the bigger, more recognizable name.

I don't think any self-respecting sports fan has never heard of Shane Mosley even if he isn't into boxing, but I'm sure many have never heard of Miguel Cotto.

That is not the question, the question is who is the bigger draw overall. Cotto or Mosley. Let me help you out a little. Cotto has an entire country and various states in the U.S backing him.

Cotto vs Pacquiao was definitely hyped, but Mayweather vs Mosley was clearly hyped a lot more overall. I saw more ads on TV for Mosley vs Mayweather in 1 day than I did in the entire 2 month build up for Pac vs Cotto. Anytime Mayweather fights you're going to expect a lot of press because of how he portrays himself to the media, and Floyd wasn't holding back any punches. Cotto and Pac didn't badmouth each other at any time being it's really not in both guys' nature more than just coming to fight.

Nevertheless, Mosley vs Mayweather doing 1.4 Mill is still a really good outing. But as I stated prior, they maybe shouldn't have even entertained the notion that it would do 3 Mill buys, let alone more than Oscar vs Mayweather.
