At 130 you would have needed to be slick. Been able to tie him up, or have a pretty good defense. Pacquiao at that time would have been the type of opponent Corrales would feed off of. Pacquiao would have been the smaller guy looking to trade. I could see Corrales going down, Joel Casamayor dropped Corrales. In fact Corrales has been dropped by lesser punchers then Pacquiao, but regardless, Corrales would continue to get up time after time after time.

Also I'd like to add that boxers that moved troubled Corrales, Freitas (Although he lost), Casamayor, Floyd Mayweather. If you watch Corrales vs. Joel Casamayor a southpaw, Joel drops Corrales with a left hand, Joel tries to jump on Corrales and in return gets dropped himself. Everyone knew Corrales wasn't the dude to stand in front of. I don't see Pacquiao outboxing Corrales, especially at that time, I believe he was incapable of that. And standing in front of him would have been suicide, especially for the smaller Pacquiao. If Pacquiao gets hurt (Which he most likely will) would be he able to survive? Would he be able to tie up the much stronger Corrales? I think not.

Before 2007, Pac beat the **** out Ledwaba at 122 and had all his wins at 122 by KO, then moved up in weight and in his first fight at 126 destroyed and stopped the undisputed champ Barrera, then in his very next fight he went even with a prime unified WBA/IBF champ JMM, and then moved up in weight again and in his first fight at 130 lost 115-113 to Morales before coming back to be the only fighter to ever stop Erik Morales (which he did twice).

Add to all that the lineal championship he won by KO at 112 against a slick boxer in his prime, Sasakul... Pac was already an ATG before 2007.

Even the version of Pacquiao who lost ot Morales would've easily stopped the Corrales that Floyd fought. People forget that Corrales was facing jail time, getting divorced, weighed in 2 lbs overweight on the first try and had to hit the sauna for two hours to make weight. To top it off Corrales never had the iron chin of Morales nor his skills.

Thread just further shows how underrated Pac is on NSB. This fight would be a mismatch.

Ok and I am not dis*****g those facts at all. He also beat Ledwaba on 3 week notice which is such an underrated win in this boards. Some of them forget how good Ledwaba was. And, how highly touted he was at the time...

But, Pac would NOT have beaten Corrales with just the left hand. Pac prior 2007 does not beat Corrales. Now post 2007 I can see a case being made. Because he had better balance, improved defense and now a right hand that was just as dangerous as the left

I think any version of Pac since 2001 is better than any versino of Corrales but I'll entertain you.

Pac already had his right hand by 2006. Watch the third Morales vs Pacquiao fight and you'll see Pacquiao rocks Morales HARD with a counter-right hook in round 1 or 2. Watch Pacquiao vs Larios and you'll see PAcquiao repeatedly throw his right hook and catch Larios with it.

Corrales ain't no Willie Pep man. He's going down against Pac and he's going down early.

Someone is getting knocked the **** out, because neither are defensive wiz's at that time. Manny Pacquiao is much more defensive now adays at avoiding punches.
