Yeah, he looked impressive taking those shots. But Prescott is hugely inaccurate and only has 3 punches - the wild overhand right, short left hook and a very sparse jab. Whereas if Kats brings a consistent jab with him, he'll be able to set up anything he likes. Uppercuts and hooks are where it's at, so it's just a case of cutting off Mitchell's backpedalling and cornering him to get those nasties in.

If no jab, however, then Mitchell's got the UD.

Talking about uppercuts, Mitchell is going to savage Kats all night with them.

I disagree, Khan is stationary so it's not like he's getting caught coming in. If anything he's moving slightly to the side, however, when the jab lands (barely, it just about reaches his chin, not enough to cause his head to snap in any direction significantly) there is a slight delay, he blinks several times, and his feet flicker as he's forcedto to step back.

        He definitely felt it.

Why so? His uppercut isn't anything special. Kats thrives on getting up close and uppercutting/45'ing/upperhooking his man.

For all his clever boxing and backpedalling, Mitchell's skinny little body may get broken down before 12.

Wasn't rocked, though. That's the only issue I have with people and "that" jab.

I guess people have different definitions of "rocked". Staring at that gif and watching it many times over it doesnt look that way, but when I watch the full fight i'd say it JUST qualifies as being rocked. I think that mainly cause it was a fairly standard jab in the opening second, it's not like Khan took a big clean shot when he was running low on gas; his reaction says to me it rocked him.

But it's all swings and roundabouts I guess.

              This is getting rocked...

The aforementioned jab didn't rock him. It moved him, but didn't rock him. That short left hook, however, absolutely annihilated him. :shk1:

This will be a big test for Mitchell. Win or lose we will find out what he's made of.

IMO a fighter stays on their feet having been rocked - they tend to lose co-ordination, and they switch into a defensive/survival mode. I don't really count being dropped and suffering after it as "rocked".

I know we're getting into semantics but that's why we have varying degrees of description; like how we have irked, angry, irate, vexed, seething, heated, fuming, antagonised etc, all under the catagory of, yet slighly different to, anger.

Edit: I agree on the second one, but not the first. Second is a good example of being rocked (and an opponent follwing it up excellently).

Getting ' rocked ' is when you're hit by a punch hard enough to wobble you. Basically a sign that you are visibly hurt.

And I'll admit something now - when I said Mitchell was rocked by Prescott, I didn't really mean it. My intention was to show how wrong people are when they say Prescott's jab "rocked" Khan, when Mitchell looked even worse upon receiving it. It's double standards. His jab only moved them, at best.

The left hook on Khan (second .GIF) was rockabilly at its finest.
