I agree, but Arum was more than willing to offer Margarito though.

As for the unbeaten Cotto, Ellerbe dismissed any possibility of him fighting Mayweather soon, if ever.

Ellerbe criticized Cotto's HBO and pay-per-view ratings, and said the Puerto Rican is not fiscally or historically appealing enough.

"It has nothing to do with Cotto's ability or talent, because I happen to believe he's a very good fighter," Ellerbe said. "I just don't think he brings enough to the table. Right now, he's not a draw in boxing. Outside of the hardcore press, nobody cares. If nobody's watching, what makes the guy important?

"We can't say what's going to happen a year from now, but at this moment, he's not in the stratosphere."

Again, very good but not great.
          ???????? WTF????

SHANE ****ING MOSLEY A MARGINAL guy? GTFO, Mosley just happens to be the number 3 pound for pound boxer in the world at 38.
Remember how easily he dominated Collazo who got robbed against all those so called elite fighters( Hatton and Berto).
Remember how Mosley ****ed up Margarito.

Jermaine Taylor only won two very suspect decisions over Bernard Hopkins, which is good but the problem is that he didn't win in the eyes of most experts and fans. Jermaine had trouble with Cory Spinks who got KOed by Zab Judah, it was clear there was something wrong with this kid.

          Cotto beat :

-Zab Judah, former undisputed WW champion of the world and at the time top 3 WW fighter.
-Shane Mosley, future HOF and ATG fighter. Champ at 135, 147 and 154.
-Carlos Quintana: undefeated, who was justing killing everybody;thought to be the best PR at the time and who went on to school Paul Williams after this fight.
          - Paulie Malignaggi, top ten Jr. WW for 4 years now. Undefeated and number one 140 pounds prospect at the time. Amateur standout
          -Mohammad Abdulaev: olympic gold medalist.
-Victoriano Sosa: tough veteran who gave all he could handle to Spadafora and lasted the distance with Floyd.
-Ricardo Torres: undefeated Knockout artist who was a last minute replacement.
-Kelson Pinto: amateur standout and undefeated prospect.

NOW TELL ME THAT ****ING COTTO IS OVERRATED!!

Ofcourse he ducked him. Cotto was undefeated and coming off a win against SSM, and Floyd was coming off a win against Hatton and retired.........in his prime....

The truth is that when cotto schooled mosley, everybody was riding cotto's **** and had him as a top 3 p4p. After this impressive win, cotto was like pacquiao after the cotto win.
At this time remember floyd was the guy who asked for a dlh rematch and refused to defend his ww belt against the legit challengers at 147. Cotto was a different fighter back then, no way that guy would have struggled with clottey or got demolished like he did against pacquiao.
your last statement is an excuse---nothing else----and i've said many times before the cotto fights with manny and clottey and margarito that floyd would spank him----his chin is suspect----he fights flatfooted, and his pace is all wrong when it comes to fighting floyd----if you base things off of cotto struggling and losing---then your argument holds no merit---because cotto fought zab judah after floyd fought zab judah--and zab being laid off for a year and getting a nd against a fighter his first fight back----

i base my predicitons off of styles making fights----i saw cotto fighting paulie and how he looked against him and knew he couldn't beat floyd---and how he fought zab and urango----not him losing---how he fought those guys--floyd would **** cotto up----but cotto never really wanted the fight like you think---the whole he doesn't call people out is nonsense----because if you really want a fight, you'll call the guy out---floyd was in a much higher position than cotto---cotto was the challenger, not floyd---floyd was number 1 p4p----floyd told cotto, if he really wanted the fight, then just come out and say it---cotto still hasn't come out and said it when the cameras in his face----and he still won't i believe---
