Floyd said Cotto wasnt a big enough draw to fight

Manny done 1.2m buys against him coming off a loss. Floyd either ducked him or doesnt feel he could do the numbers Manny did.

    IMO he ducked him.

well, already you're wrong----cotto was coming off of a win idiot----and floyd was talking about at the time dumby---floyd never ducked cotto---he wanted cotto for 10 million dollars and bob arum said, practically speaking anyway, hell no, i won't put him in the ring with you-----he's not being ruined by you----

Floyd ducked him just like Tyson ducked Lennox Lewis, move on.

That's a known fact that he ducked both Margarito and Cotto. I don't think he was literally scared of them but didn't see enough reward for those very risky fights. I think Floyd was more scared of Cotto because of Cotto's versatility back in the days. Cotto outboxed a guy Floyd and his family respects a lot in Mosley.

cotto-rulez----how dare you come on here and of course agree with the ts, you being a cotto fan, and then say, floyd wasn't literally scared of cotto and margarito, but then say i think floyd was more scared of cotto because of his versatility-----not only would floyd have dusted and tore cotto apart, he would habe ruined cotto----that's a damn guarantee---arum kept cotto away from floyd----that's a guarantee---cotto still hasn't called floyd out like he should have---he knows his ass was getting taxed if he fought floyd---mostly everybody knew that, everybody who mattered anyway---

Floyd has a big ego and thinks he's unbeatable. Now that Cotto got his ass kicked by Margarito and Pacquiao and struggled with Clottey, it's easier to say Cotto was an easy fight for Floyd.

The truth is that when Cotto schooled Mosley, everybody was riding Cotto's **** and had him as a top 3 P4P. After this impressive win, Cotto was like Pacquiao after the Cotto win.
At this time remember Floyd was the guy who asked for a DLH rematch and refused to defend his WW belt against the legit challengers at 147. Cotto was a different fighter back then, no way that guy would have struggled with Clottey or got demolished like he did against Pacquiao.

Dan Rafael posted this a long time ago on ESPN! Bob told floyd he couldn't get 10 mil for cotto or 20 mil for ODH., but he could get him 8 mil for Margarito. Floyd bought out his top rank contract for 750k and then got more than 8 mil to fight Baldomir and then $25 mil for ODH.

Cotto wasn't a household name back then, although he did have a huge PR following. But he has never been as big as Tito.

Cotto is a very good boxer but he is not nor has he ever been an elite fighte IMO. He is better than Jermain Taylor but HBO did with Cotto what they did with Taylor. He got tons of credit for wins against marginal guys IMO.

Again, very good but not great.
