yeah but these are not official numbers either.

i think iole and ellerbe are both going off estimates.

i wonder when they interviewed ellerbe.

1.4 not bad but let's be honest people were expecting more before the fight. Some saying even 2 mill+

1.1 would have been a failure based on everyone as a whole predictions.

I don't know what people can't understand about that. Some fights are held to different standards.

1.4 is good though. Not great for everyone's expectations but successful nonetheless.

People are getting to spoiled with this PPV numbers from both Floyd and Pac. And, you bring up a good point. We're in the steam era. Imagine the type of numbers both Floyd and Pac would be putting up if there were no streams. Is like the Mike Tyson black box era. It hurts PPV sales because a lot of people are watching for free. But, it also proves how huge boxing still is as a sport. Without mainstream media help.

MMA would give a left testicle to get this type of numbers on a consistent basis.

as long as hbo , the cable and satellite companies , the promoters and the fighters all made tons of money. it's not a failure. a ppv failure would be something like jones-hopkins 2.

1-1.5 million were realistic estimates anyway. the fight got that.

schaeffer was talking out of his ass with 2 , 3 , 4 million estimates.

Seeing as Cotto is a much bigger draw than Shane, pretty good.

Im still dissapointed tho. I really believed the 2mm would be possible.
