Could anyone really be surprise by this low number though? All one has to do is see the disparity in the purse split and understand why this fight failed miserably in attaining it's expected goal.

If I understood correctly, Mayweather was guaranteed a minimum of $22M for the fight. Whereas Mosley was only guaranteed a minimum of $7M for the fight.

The rationalization for this split was that Mosley wasn't a box office draw or neither a Pay Per View attraction. Mosley never carried an A side of a Pay Per View promotion in his entire career.

So where exactly did Richard Schaefer of GBP get this 3M or 4M PPV buy figure is a rather perplexing one and far and beyond me.

Shane doesn't have a loyal following or fan base to reach 3M buys but Pacquiao does thereby making this proposed bout between the two of them a 50/50 purse split.
