The reason I asked for general feelings is I'm beginning to think Larry Merchant just wants to see guys beat the **** out of each other. Added to that, he knows HBO stands to make a killing on the fight.

Larry to me is one of these old phill guys who glorifies Ali, meldrick taylor, joe frazier, etc. but doesn't give a **** if they end up like ali or rid**** bowe. I get the sense larry sees it as a badge of honor if you take a hellacious beating.

Maybe larry is just too old to change. I just thought it was unmanly bordering on pu$$y to reserve your hardest comments until after the fighter has gone. Just say it directly to him so he can respond.

i think floyd has been very patient and tolerant of merchant over the years to be fair. i mean, whether WE like floyd or not, i think we can all agree that larry HATES floyd...

I think Floyd really thinks Pac is on PEDs, and that this is a testament to how good Pacquiao really is.

floyd needs to just shut up and fight manny pacquaio no matter how good these boxers are today who does he think he is ? enough with the allegations of manny possibly using Ped's already!!! floyd mayweather is a awesome boxer and the same for the pacman but since when does the athlete or boxer change the rules for any sport ? its time to put up or shut up for floyd mayweather..win..lose..or draw who cares just fight!!!

Merchant has made it clear that he dislikes Mayweather. Lampley is the one who credits Mayweather when it's due. I like listening to Lampley's critique on Floyd because he at least evens it out by saying the good things about Floyd so you know he's genuine when he gives his opinion. Larry just straight bashes Floyd like these posters in NSB.

I think its spot on, sounds like a duck to me if he had no solid basis to ask this guy specifically for extra test as opposed other fighters before none of which were given a great chance of beating Floyd unlike Pac......seems like a bit more than a coincidence.
