If one party is suspected of using performance enhancing drugs it is only reasonable to ask for drug testing prior to the fight.

I don't see it as a win-win situation, Floyd agreed to taking the tests himself.

It may be a money problem, I'm not certain, but surely it would cost to use this type of testing? And for small undercard fights, the cost would be too much...

I've heard people say it costed around $20,000 to do the random testing for Mayweather and Mosley. So you can just imagine it would cost loads for the whole undercard. I think the big thing is to do it for undercards because if the big name fighters get caught doing it then it's a big deal and hopefully young fighters will look at that and make sure they dont do it (because of the huge backlash on their image).

Drug testing is a step in the right direction.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on that. However, I have a problem believing that this has ever been the intent of team Mayweather. Rather, I believe that it was originally nothing more than a bargaining ploy that snowballed into something uncontrollable by both sides. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather had to take one stance on it or risk looking like fools.

But, yes, drug testing to a greater degree is a good thing.
