How come Edwin Valero never tested positive for anything...

why is it hard to understand that valero wasn't on drugs during training camp/fights?
The way I see it, he wasn't some crack-head his whole life. I'm sure he did drugs his whole life and but it wasn't always a problem. He partied, etc. but when it was time to train, all accounts say he trained very hard, he was a very hard worker. You can't be on drugs like that and be a gym rat. Doesn't work that way.
The last year of his life I think his drug use spiraled out of control and especially the last several months of his life to the point he was using every day. He wasn't like that his whole life, or else he would not have been a good fighter.Comment

I was under the impression that ******* leaves the system in a day or two.... I know the tests for coke are for a metabolite that's formed from the liver (don't ask me to spell it out though) and that metabolite's only around for a month or so (he probably didn't do any while training)Comment

He didnt fight in the US...plus im pretty sure he came of the drugs during training camp.....hard to beleive an athlete with a hardcore drug addiction could do everyhting he did highComment

It's a more likely scenario that he was a user of drugs, but it was never a big problem. He would party, etc. but during training camp leading up to the fight, he was clean, or at least for the most part clean.Comment

Yes but if you're a coke addict there is no possible way you can be at the gym as much as valero was. Read interviews, watch video's, etc. about how hard of a worker he was. The theory that Valero was always a drug addict doesn't fit.

I think he was a good prospect for years and years to come, he showed us what he was made of through all his fights!
It is just a shame his personal life took a turn in the wrong direction! Killing his wife which he couldn't forgive himself for! Why he did it I don't know but I do know well think, he killed himself because he couldn't live with the fact that he killed her!!Comment
