Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

Let's say Martinez beats Pavlik again, Pacquiao-Mayweather falls apart again, and Martinez-Mayweather gets signed for the WBC/WBO MW titles at a catchweight of 158 because Floyd decides Martinez is too big and it would be unfair to fight him at 160. Pacquiao did it for Cotto's WBO WW title at 145 and most fans defended that because he was a 'small WW'. So would you defend Floyd because he would be a small MW?

Would you be okay with this?

if its ok for Pac to do it, then it should be ok for Floyd to do it.

Not at all. I wouldn't even bash Floyd for fighting Martinez at 154. But, if it is for the MW title then it should at least be at 155. And, I am OK with that.

WW is 140.1-147. Nothing wrong with Pac-Cotto.

MW is 154.1-160. Nothing wrong with Floyd-Martinez under the same circumstances.

Martinez didn't need a catweight to take Kelly's belts so I don't see the reason why May should get a free pass for demanding a catchweight, 160 lbs or bust.

Just like I bashed Packy and called him a catchweight *****.

Yes I would. Martinez isn't even a MW, he's more a natural Jr MW. Unless Mayweather beats him at 160, I won't consider him champion at 160.

No problem with that... Martinez would come in at around 158 regardless of the catchweight.

I believe he was 158-159lbs for the Williams fight at MW.
