Good post for Cuauhtemoc the Aztec warrior, once again. Good stuff man. I agree with your post.

At the risk of sounding like a nutthugger, I don't think Floyd is really a bad guy. I think we'll see that when he isn't fighting anymore. The badboy image he puts on before fights is mainly to hype whatever fight he's in. He likes playing the villain for some reason.

He always seems to be nice to and appreciative of his fans and likes to give back to the community.

I do agree that a lot more people would like him if he dropped the *******/thug image but it's what works for him to win fights.

Thanks man, I think it goes beyond that though.

Let's be real, he has gotten into a little legal trouble because of the company he keeps and he like to be seen in strip clubs making it "rain".

Like I said, I'm not judging the guy but he does have to understand that marketability comes with some sense of good example.

The main thing that made Oscar and Leonard so marketable was their "good guy" images. The fact they were gold medalists, clean cut guys etc.

I know that's not Floyd and I agree with you I think a lot of it is an act but unfortunately perception is sometimes stronger than the truth.

First off I want to say Floyd is an incredible fighter, his speed and skill IMO is unmatched in the world of boxing right now. It's a hard pill for some to swallow because most people cannot separate their personal feelings with objectivity.

Mosley was not an easy fight, I don't care if he is 38 years old. Is he the Mosley in his prime? No, but he is still a very capable fighter and it showed when he had Floyd in trouble in the second round. The thing with Floyd is that it takes him all of a round to figure you out, catch your rhythm and start picking you apart. He did this with surprising ease and showed why he has never lost a fight.

The problems I do have with Floyd is that he has hand picked opponents in the past, some call it smart, others call it cowardly. Personally, I think Floyd actually got lucky with the draw. He came when Oscar, Mosley, Trinidad and all those great fighters at 147 were way past their prime but honestly, I can't blame Floyd for that. Some say he ran from a prime Margarito when he was a terror in the welter weight division, but let's be honest people, would Margarito be nothing more than a punching bag for him? I mean Mosley made him look slow and lethargic, what do you think Floyd would have done for 12 rounds?

I don't like Floyd the man, his mouth is a turn off for me. Floyd the fighter on the other hand is a naturally gifted fighter that is incredible to watch for the boxing purist like myself. I don't care to see a bad man contest and two unskilled drunks beat on each other into a bloody mess, I want to see two masters of the sport battle it out and Floyd honestly made it look easy.

Floyd once said the reason he isn't the biggest sports star in America is because he is black. We all know that is a absurd comment, the truth is, Floyd has crossed the boundary from ****y and charismatic, to obnoxious and annoying. If Floyd allowed himself to be more humble he would be more liked. That's just not Floyd though, maybe it's his ****iness that gives him that strength, that confidence that makes him great in the ring.

All I know is that I don't see anyone beating Floyd, not even Pacquaio. Pacquaio is an all time great in his own right but as the saying goes, a great big man always beats a great small man and I just think that when those two come face to face in the ring, Floyd natural size and strength advantage will be apparent. That's not to say Pacquiao doesn't have a chance, every fighter has a chance as we saw how close Mosley was to ending the fight in the second but with the safe style that Floyd implores, it would be very difficult for Pacquaio to turn this into a brawl or get close enough to make enough exchanges to KO Floyd.

I can't say Floyd is the greatest of all time because that's another argument for another day. I can say that if he keeps winning in dominant fashion like this, he is making a hell of a case for it though....
I say replace margarito with cotto and this article is spot on.

Either or, I was thinking about Cotto was well but I just remembered the video of Floyd shaking Marg's hand and promising him that fight.

In retrospect, it makes no difference, Floyd makes easy 12 round work of Cotto or Marg.

Agree 100 percent. Look at him in his post fight interviews. I like Mayweather as well as Pacquiao. I don't understand why people can't be fans of both and why they care so much about what Floyd says on 24/7.

Good reading. He's def one of the most gifted fighters of all time but right now not the greatest of all time, not even close. for that to happen he would have clean out all of the divisions he ever fought in to get that spot and still be undefeated or atleast be very impressive like the old timers did.

im right there with you, i enjoy somebody not trying to be the tiger woods of the world and then turns out they're not as wholesome as they first appeared.

floyd makes me laugh i never took him serious or allowed anything he said to offend me.

I agree with most of what you said. However, I do see two sides to Floyd's personality. Of course there is the ****y Floyd, but I've seen few interviews where he speaks a lot of sense. Especially the Sky Sports interviews.

Another mistake I think some people make is assuming that someone is all bad or all good. Everyone has a dark side and a nice side. At the end of the day, when these people go home and close the doors.. who knows what's really going on?

You make it sound like he has split personalities.
