This is good news. Bob was never this positive the first time around. All he kept saying was "its tough. we might have to start looking elsewhere." So to see that Bob feels this fight needs to be made, is a good start.

He's lost a lot of the cards he was playing with the first time around.

And Pac's team didn't do any acts of sabotage right? It was all Mayweather? All parties played a part in the fight not happening.

          For two reasons...
1.Pacquiao not gonna submit to the drug testing. Not yet. In a year or so at the end of his career maybe...I have thoughts on whether he is clean but that is not for this conversation.

2.Floyd has replaced ODLH as the PPV king and no way he gives pacquiao 50% of the earnings. Arum and folks are eager to make the fight now but Golden Boy gonna stop them dead in their tracks. No 50-50!!!

So us boxing fans will have to think up some more match-ups!!!
There is another item to add to your list that could keep the fight from happening. If the fight gets made, Arum will not be the lead promoter. He was going to be in the first fight. However, after Mayweather has proved his superiority in PPV numbers, I am sure they will demand that Golden Boy/Mayweather Promotions serve as the lead promoters (thus raking in the majority of the cash). Arum will balk at that and won't make the fight because of it. But, of course, he will blame Mayweather!

He has lost ALL of the cards he was playing with the first time around. Arum and Pac are the equivalent of the criminant defendent who is offered a five year plea deal, turns it down because his attorney thinks he can win the case, loses the case and ends up serving life-without-parole. Arum and Pac are going to beg for the original deal, but it is off the table now.

Why should he be disbelieved. He's keeping his word, although it's long forgotten by everyone. He is far more truthful than other promoters, and very community oriented.

Most of the boxing "hot air", in my opinion, comes from posters on Boxingscene.
Another post from Bob Arum's Public Relations Director!

If both camps can come to a speedy and controversy free agreement then the whole sport would get a gigantic boost and positive press from the mainstream media for months.

                  DO IT!

masterful?! bob arum is a scumbag! anybody who has followed boxing for the last 30 years knows he is as corrupted as they come. he's the george bush of the boxing world. now he's a political activist? gtfoh! he's the main reason why the fight didn't happen in march. he had promise jerry jones that he would bring the fight to jerry's billion dollar dollhouse and when couldn't deliver it that's when the drug testing issue became a problem and clottey's name magically appeared( same date in dallas ). gtfoh!

Arum is right, they should keep the public out of the negotiations because they played to the publics emotions and took it was the public were backing them and pretty much made enemys of eachother thru us. Its none of our business what happens behind closed doors
