I wish more boxers would (or could) write about their sport.

One gripe with the article: You don't understand why people hate Floyd? Come on, the answer stares in your face everytime he's on TV; he WANTS you to hate him.

His marketing style is to be so obnoxious and arrogant that you will pay $69.99 to watch him lose. In a sport where there is no league or guaranteed TV time, Floyd is doing what is expected of a young black male: he's acting like a thug.

Unfortunately, sincere black men in sports get little due (Winky Wright, Terrel Davis, David Robinson, etc....). America lives off of black men acting ****** and Floyd makes money off of it. He has admitted to targeting the hiphop crowd. The same crowd that shoots up night clubs and fans at concerts.

It's not hard to hate Floyd, regardless of his excellent boxing skills.

amay, politicks and racism go hand in hand and it works both ways. a boxer can get promoted by the color of his skin and be held back by the color of his skin. and the politics always suck. always. IMO

No offense. I respect what your parents and grandparents did, but being black is a whole nother ball of wax baby. The black man is the lowest on the totem pole. Yes it is 2010 and it shouldn't matter but you will never walk in a black man's shoes so I guess you will have to take our word for it. It's still here.

Wow, this man is bitter. So many things I don't agree with in this I don't even know where to start. Victor Ortiz shouldn't be fighting on HBO? Why not? He looked amazing before the Maidana fight and even during that fight at times. He's exciting and he has personality. I don't think this guy can't get fights because of his race, probably more to do with his boring style and chip-on-my-shoulder attitude. I like the idea of reading articles/blogs from professional boxers, but the two that are always talking on this site(Paulie) just put down boxing in general and other boxers. Ishe talks here about people hating on Floyd for no reason, what's his reason for hating on Angulo and in an indirect way, Pacquiao too? Not trying to be a jerk, but this just comes off as a bitter man who thinks the world is against him because of his race.

floyd's an amazing talent... but he gets hate because that's his marketing plan.
Personally I think floyd fights different when he spars. I think floyd goes all out in sparring because he knows there's nothing on the line. but when he gets in the ring, he is way too cautious.
