Pernell wasn't in prime. Soooo you could say if someone beats Mayweather or Pacquiao right now they won't get credit right??? I mean Pac has over 50 fights and Mayweather over 40.
Apart from the wrong decision with Chavez, Pernell was P4P#1 and hasn't lost in years.

If Tito ruined Vargas then DLH would of knocked the crap out of Vargas a lot sooner. Why was Vargas able to resist all them punches vs Mosley who's a power puncher??

Yeah, but I think it's hard to say Pernell was on the decline. He was coming off a lacklustre performence against Hurtado but he did generally perform well against Oscar and wasnt he the P4P king at the time also? I thought he did enough to win but obviously the judges didnt see it that way. Chavez is hard to say about, I do agree with anyone who say's he wasnt a natural welterweight and Oscar was but you can't say he was finished. Chavez was like 90-1 and had avenged his only loss. So I think Oscar deserves more credit for that win than some people give him.

I just can't believe Amir's comments though, I am not a fan of Oscar but one thing you can't deny is his desire to fight the best throughout his career. He won a world title in like his 12th fight and fought just about everyone he could have fought during his career. Oscar had loads of big fights, Nobody can deny that.

Hmm, Am I mistaken or did Oscar not fight a prime Tito Trinidad, Ike Quartey, Oba Carr, Shane Mosley, Hector Camacho, Pernell Whitaker, Genaro Hernandez, Fernando Vargas and Bernard Hopkins at 160?

Oscar fought the best. Stop talking out your ass Mr Khan

              I hope Malignaggi wins
You should forgive Amir. He mistakenly referred to Oscar when he actually meant to say Manny Pacquaio.

Anyway, I am not surprised. it became obvious when he refused to take on Maidana. Then takes on the light hitting Malignaggi, and starts mouthing off towards Mayweather, Hatton, and Pacquiao. He should start taking on fights on his level, which is a few notches below Mayweather and Pacquiao (like Maidana), and stop running after an unofficially retired fighter in Hatton.
Actually, you have it wrong. Maidana is one notch above Khan. That is why he didn't want to fight him. Mayweather and Pac are five notches above Khan and he will never fight them, unless he sees them declining to his level.

I don't get what he means really. Oscar fought a few faded fighters but he also fought a lot of good, prime ones. Punchers too.

AMIR KHAN insists he will be ready to take on Floyd Mayweather AND Manny Pacquiao in a year's time.

The world light-welterweight champion, who defends his title against Paulie Malignaggi in New York on May 15, believes it is only a matter of fine tuning his skills before he can take on the world's top two pound-for-pound fighters.

Khan, 23, is willing to move up a division to fight undefeated Mayweather, who cruised to a unanimous points verdict over Sugar Shane Mosley in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The Bolton basher said: "In 12 months from now, I will be ready for Manny and Floyd Mayweather Junior."

Mayweather and Pacquiao were due to fight this year before rows over drug testing got in the way.

But Khan has no doubt the money-spinning bout will go ahead.

He added: "I know them both well and they both want to fight.

"It's the promoters trying to sort out all the details that are holding it up. Who would win? That's a tough one but I'd say Manny. He's more aggressive and I think he'd take Mayweather into an uncomfortable zone where he hasn't been for a very long time.

"Floyd likes to control a fight but so does Manny and he has a higher work rate. If things go well, I could end up fighting the winner.

"This game's all about timing. You have to know the best time to have these big fights. I want to catch these guys when they have come off their peak."
