He beat two top WWs, one of them was ranked #3. How has he not faced elite WWs?
Pacquiao has only faced one man at the welterweight limit.

Pacquiao has defeated three men within the welterweight limit and one had to come down to a weight he hadn't fought at in nearly 9 years, another had to go to a catchweight, and the third was a legitimate contender in name recognition, but was ranked #7 by the WBO, and not in the top 10 for any other governing body.

Because that was a poor vrsion of malignaggi where hatton

        a) didn't see the best boxing skill that one-handed paulie had to offer, and

        b) didn't have to worry about the pillow fight that Paulie would throw at him

I can see Floyd using this technique.

What made that version of Malignaggi poor?

Because, he had one good hand? That is how the majority of his fight is. A one handed Malignaggi could not beat a SHOT Hatton?

How did I miss this gem of a thread.

Lot of dumb comments in here so far.

Definitely. Except he is worlds better than Marquez at it. Worlds. Not to mention is a better inside fighter than Marquez and Pacquiao combined. Styles make fights. And you have to listen very, very carefully. What Roach is really saying is, "If Floyd fights Manny the same way he fought Shane last Saturday, then yada yada." Any other scenario and his words carry no weight.

Clottey was ranked top 5 by the ring. The RING>Major belts rankings.

Cotto for half his fights at WW weight 146, in his previous fight before Pac he weight in at 146.

So ONE POUND made a difference from Cotto being elite or not?
