Martinez would get beat bad. I like martinez, but fighting with your hands down like Roy jones wouldn't work against the most accurate puncher in history

Yes, but Oscar can only fight one way. Going forward when he is landing his jab. If he is forced to go backwards, or he has to cut the ring off, he's screwed. Roach commented on it when he said something to the effect of: Oscar is an ATG, BUT he couldn't cut the ring off. I tried to teach him over and over again and I was surprised when he just couldn't do it.

        1. you realize martinez is a small middleweight right?
        2. you realize he gets hit too much even when fighting slow plodding guys like Pavlik, and to an extent PW (average speed at best!)
        3. after admitting the above, what single part of Martinez' game could best Floyd?
        1. Floyd is a small welterweight.
        2. Martinez got hit by much bigger men in Pavlik and Williams, I don't think Mayweather's punches would have more effect.
        3. The size advantage and he is an awkward fighter and very decent in a lot of things, which might be good enough with the physical advantages. Of course Mayweather is faster and would land more, but Martinez's hits could have quite an impact. Floyd has no business at 154, in my opinion. I would be very surprised if he could handle Martinez easily, and I think he is #1 P4P (hard to say for sure until he meets with Pac, but for now I have the feeling he is the best).

Not a for sure thing at 154.

          Slick boxing vs Mayweather Boxing.......

I'd give Mayweather a 85% chance to win this fight. Your not going to beat Mayweather by boxing him. In a fight of points, Mayweather will always win.

Martinez is my BOY! but I don't like that match up for him at all, his advantage vs Williams and Pavlik was his speed, what happens when he is fighting someone FASTER then he is, all that Slick stuff won't work against Floyd

if I am Martinez I would go for either Williams again or fight the Winner of Cotto vs Foreman, I personally think he should go after the Winner of Cotto vs Foreman especially if Cotto wins since he lost to Cotto in the past

Speed was his co-advantage vs Pavlik. His other advantage was the fact that Pavlik's footwork sucks! This was exposed earlier in Pavlik's career. If Jermain Taylor didn't try to out-slug Pavlik, he would have won.
