he'd have the same problems with wlad he had against lennox. not as badly if he were younger though. he could outwork wlad but he'd take some damage in the process. prime evander was extremely fast on his feet. that's his way to win. you've got to outhustle the klitschkos. i don't think the people who say they can be outclassed have watched them enough.

i think he struggles a lot more with vitali's workrate and unorthodox style.


imo he splits a series with both brothers. loses the first and wins the second. vitali has a better chance at winning the 2nd than wlad.

As it stands, I doubt he would have been able to beat Wlad.
Wlad has simply grown into an unbeatable HW. Too smart, too strong, too big for Holy****.

He's extremely overrated. He rarely dominated his opponent, and all of his important wins are too narrow, while Klit dominates his opponents.
He beat Tyson by headbutting him to death, that's the high point of his career.
Overrated IMO.

Ruiz has fought HOFers as well, I guess he should be the one cleaning up the division. A division which by the way, is credit to Wlad for making it look so uncompetitive.

It's easier said than done, cleaning up the HW division at any given time is a huge task, Wlad has obviously mastered this, something which Holy never did.

Holy is just typical American hype. Everyone loves his "warrior" persona and style of boxing, but the harsh reality is that he was never that good. Certainly never good enough to dominate the HW division the way Wlad is doing now.

He was tough, sure, but with the right tactics he could have been neutralized with relative ease. Hell, James Toney mopped the floor with him, and Toney's a former middleweight FFS. The quality is just not there, simple.

At cruiserweight he was a complete beast, I agree.
But it's a different story at HW. The fact that Byrd and Ruiz outboxed him should tell you the story more or less.

Have you seen Wlad fight? It's not just the 1-2. It's the power, the relentless pressure and the fact that he's basically evolved under Manny. His defense is nearly flawless and he barely gets hit. Lewis kept him at bay, I think it's safe to say that Wlad has the ability to do the same.

The only way Wlad could lose is if his chin suddenly lets him down, there's noway Holy was skilled enough to outpoint him. Holy was never a big puncher anyway, so I'll stick to my theory, but it's boxing so anything can happen.
