Let's focus on the fact that Floyd put together an amazing display of talent on Saturday night by making a Hall of Fame fighter who is an accomplished and reigning champion, Shane Mosley look average just like every other opponent he's faced. Now as far as the tickets sold, I personally bought floor seats and we all know the gate was higher for this fight with 15,115 in attendance than the 50K tickets sold for the Pacquiao Clottey fight. Secondly the PPV sales are not totaled yet so this report is possibly accurate to the fact that maybe 1.5 mil pre - ordered the fight days in advance, but I guarantee this fight did much better than that and will result in Pacquiao receiving no way near a 50/50 split @ best 65 - 35.

Remember when Floyd-Oscar was supposed to be the last big fight......There will be more mega fights trust me give it timeYou know, as much as I hate Fraud(and maybe people starting to realize that now), it is a bad sign for boxing. Let's say Fraud does have some sort of attraction and marketability based on his outside the ring persona...he had a VERY good dance partner in Mosley. A very well name, and that alone should be enough to have done better buys than that. Think about this. Pacquiao-Mayweather comes and goes, THEN WHAT?! WTF is left in boxing? Sure there is young talent, but how long we need to wait for a new stars? MMA already got plenty and is easily grabbing everyone's attention. Boxing needs serious help quick!Comment

Cotto sells out MSG mostly because he is puerto rican and NYC has 800,000 puerto ricans....im going to see cotto in yankee stadium and with out the puerto ricans living in new york, cotto comes nowhere close to selling the projected 30,000 tickets......Mosley v margarito had the biggest attendence in the Staples Center historyComment

Well Fights in Las Vegas and mostly sold to rich ass gamblers betting large money on the fight, which is why its held in a casino...the pac/clottey fight allowed the average joe to see the fight live which is something you cant do in Vegas....some tickets cost 50 bucks which is less then a PPV on tv, not a nose bleed seat which cost 1 KLet's focus on the fact that Floyd put together an amazing display of talent on Saturday night by making a Hall of Fame fighter who is an accomplished and reigning champion, Shane Mosley look average just like every other opponent he's faced. that's quite dissapointing. the two top american boxers fighting in an american PPV event only producing PPV numbers in the range of Pac-Cotto (1.25M), two non-americans.
the good thing about this is that the purse split for a pac-may fight won't be too much of a hindrance to negotiations.Comment

lol i just have this gut feeling that Floyd will still demand a higher share no matter what, cuz hes like that....and yes it is crazy that 2 non-americans can out sell 2 americans....imagine if Pac was americanthat's quite dissapointing. the two top american boxers fighting in an american PPV event only producing PPV numbers in the range of Pac-Cotto (1.25M), two non-americans.

Cotto is a bigger draw than Mosley no doubt about it and is not debatable. BTW Mosley-Margarito had the biggest attendence in Staples Center history because just like Cotto has lots of Puerto Rican fans Margarito has lots of Mexicans fans and he was coming of a huge win over Cotto so he was in high demand at the time of the Mosley fight.Cotto sells out MSG mostly because he is puerto rican and NYC has 800,000 puerto ricans....im going to see cotto in yankee stadium and with out the puerto ricans living in new york, cotto comes nowhere close to selling the projected 30,000 tickets......Mosley v margarito had the biggest attendence in the Staples Center historyComment

My response was in reference to comments which were meant to downplay the number of people in attendance on Saturday. Again I want to reiterate that these PPV sales are not final and I believe this fight did better than 2 million buys.Comment
