In this day and age of the digital era does it really take that long to count total PPV buys? i find it hard to believe it takes very long. of course we don't hear about them quickly because promoters like to fully exploit final numbers in there favor (Arum, GBP, Don King). So i assume these numbers are pretty much close to the final numbers and they are pretty good numbers! although a little disappointing though because they have been promoting this fight heavily basically since the SB. i'm curious in how many millions GBP spent on advertising... Anyways good numbers but could have been a lot better! Bright side though floyd can't ask for more than 50/50 so it will make a potential fight between him and pac a lot easier to make! well drug testing aside...

Being from Las Vegas I know that most of those high price seats are "FREE", COMPS, to high rollers, celebs, business associates and hook ups from managements. I know some friends of mine even got the ring side seats for free!!!!!!!!!!!

if those numbers are true HBO and GBP would just break even as they offered so much money for the fight purse...$30M i think with 75% going to floyd. pac-cotto fight purse i believe was $10M lower than that. HBO and GBP also spent a big amount to promote floyd-shane that's why shaeffer was expecting a bigger ppv number.

HBO releases the PPV numbers, not GBP.

A very well name, and that alone should be enough to have done better buys than that. Think about this. Pacquiao-Mayweather comes and goes, THEN WHAT?! WTF is left in boxing? Sure there is young talent, but how long we need to wait for a new stars? MMA already got plenty and is easily grabbing everyone's attention. Boxing needs serious help quick!
Imma go ahead and BUMP this post because it's very important and nobody seemed to notice it. It's about as impartial as you can get considering the source. I'm not bashing either floyd fan or pacman fan. This post makes HUGE sense.

I think I'll wait for an official count not some bs preliminary count that is pulling a number from who knows where...
