Obviously you want it to be true. But like I said i'm not buying. Too many casual fans at my job we're talkin about this fight and they all bought it including myself. And NONE of them we're talking about Pac-Clottey. I expect big numbers for this fight. And until I get the OFFICIAL numbers that's what i'm thinkin.Comment

no chance. pac has no personality. i tried to watch pac-cotto 24/7 omg it was sooo boring. he HAS to be exciting in the ring cause that guy has nothing else to offer. Mayweather will make millions after boxing doing other stuff. Pac not a chance which is why he settled for congress.Comment

I don't like his writeups to be honest but one thing I remember is that his sources is the one who got the 1M figure immediately after the Pbf-Jmm fight. And he got crap because of it but he turned out right. This would at least speak well for his sources.Comment

I think this initial quote is a little low!! I can say maybe initial numbers around 1.5-1.6 million but I know for a fact it wont be that low (1.2). Every sports bar or wing joint within 30 miles of my home was to capacity by 2030. Naturally forcing everyone within that area to retreat to their homes and purchase the fight. I also know of in Atlanta most bars were charging between $20-$30 for entry to see the fight in their establishment. At a cost of $54.95 most would prefer to see the fight in the comfort of their own home without the local drunkards and wannabe boxing gurus ramble throughout the fight. I can see in between 1.6-1.8 million buys!
Secondly the fact that Pacquio sold 700,000 PPV's against Clottey and Mayweather may have not been able to achieve those same numbers is a bargaining tool!?! First of all Mayweather wouldnt have even been in the ring with Clottey because it didnt make business sense. Clottey a good fighter in his own right is not in the same league as Mayweather nor Pacquio. If it had not been for die hard Pacquio fans who dont care if he (Pac) fights Clottey or the local varsity quarterback those numbers would have been a lot less. 700,000 views is not a negotiating tool regardless of who the fighters are. Pac should have been more focused on numbers moreso then a guarenteed victoryComment
