Veteran boxing scribe Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports was advised by "good sources" that last Saturday's HBO pay-per-view featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Shane Mosley generated an early buyrate figure of around 1.1 to 1.2 million, which is not much higher than the 1 million buys generated by Mayweather's pay-per-view with Juan Manuel Marquez last September. You know, as much as I hate Fraud(and maybe people starting to realize that now), it is a bad sign for boxing. Let's say Fraud does have some sort of attraction and marketability based on his outside the ring persona...he had a VERY good dance partner in Mosley. A very well name, and that alone should be enough to have done better buys than that. Think about this. Pacquiao-Mayweather comes and goes, THEN WHAT?! WTF is left in boxing? Sure there is young talent, but how long we need to wait for a new stars? MMA already got plenty and is easily grabbing everyone's attention. Boxing needs serious help quick!Comment
