Totally different than a fight. The fighter and the promoter are not gonna be throwing punches at each other for 12 rounds after they make a deal.

Or why Manny insisted Cotto defend the 147 lb title at a max weght of 145? Because he is a true competitor.

you know, the worst part is that these haters now are the same idiots who said Pacquiao was a scared ***** when he wanted the bigger share against Hatton. I remember all the talk about Pacquiao being scared to fight Hatton.

Pac was moving up from 140.

I don't see why people comeplan that the fight was fought on a level playing field instead of Cotto picking on a Jr.WW at 147.

I know it's alot of money to us guys here well most but it's really not alot for a man with hundreds of millions in the bank already, he doesn't need it.. Us guys here look at 40 million as a huge amount but think about it, for a guy like pacquiao he will never be short of money, it's really not an issue for him looking at it from pacquiao's perspective, it seems many are acting like it's life changing money for him it's NOT.

Pacquiao just doesn't want Mayweather to walk all over him and call the shots, i cant really blame the guy. I certainly wouldn't like to get walked all over without having getting your own say on the matter, it's just human nature not to get bossed around.

I hope the fight happens but i just had to say this, think about it guys for a man of pacquiaos calibre 40 million is not ALOT. He could easily retire now and live a wealthy life without or with the extra 40 million, it's not that big of a deal.
Ok, so let's re-write this real quick:

Money is not an issue with Pacquiao, he has more than we'll ever know or he'll ever go through. The problem is who dictates the rules: Mayweather or the athletic sports commission. I want to see the fight as much as the next person, but I think Mayweather needs Pacquiao, and no the other way around.

***There, all that fluff in one paragraph.

                    So, now my response....

I think pacquiao is totally set. Money is important, but he's in a financial position that he can say that it's not the main issue. I too hope there is some middle ground that can be done. Boxing needs this fight to happen and both will feel the financial burden should the fight not happen. Likewise, both will feel the backlash for being part of the breakdown of what should have been a great matchup should it not happen.

Pacquiao and Golden Boy Promotions? No.

He did beat the crap out of their president though, that was part of a totally different deal. The one where Pac took the smaller cut and accepted to move up 12 pounds while Oscar was moving down 3 pounds.
