    - Mosley was the big, powerful welterweight that everyone's been screaming for Mayweather to fight since forever
    - Mosley was #1 welterweight and on the back of a demolition job on the formerly "most feared man on the planet"
    - Mosley was ranked by most as the 3rd best boxer in the world
    - Mosley is a shoo-in for the IBHoF

well, according to THE RING rankings as of lastweek, #1 Pac, #2 Mosley, #3 mayweather...there is no RING champ according the THE RING MAGAZINE

and both cotto and clottey where the more naturally bigger guy than pac...more so than mosley was to mayweather

and mosley is close to 40 yrs with a year and a half layoff at his age is more of a disadvantage....mayweathers had a layoff too, but at his age, its not so much of a disadvantage at a younger age

im not putting mayweather down, just not taking the overhyped wins over aging and overweighted marquez and an old mosley

not sure why some are talking this Floyd win up, he nearly got ktfo'd ffs, it's only because Mosley was so gassy that he didn't tear into him in the next two rounds

Because of the way Mayweather beat him. Mayweather walked him down and very few expected him to do that. Not only did he walk him down, he dominated him 11 rounds to 1.

thats what i noticed too...mosley was already tired in the early rounds and by the end of the 5th or 6th round, i heard mosley asking for a cold towel in his corner, "get me a cold towel, get me a cold towel"...MAYBE ALL THE BLOOD DRAWN got to him physically...im not making any excuses, but that could be the case why he looked so tired and weak so quickly...aahhh, and the fact he is almost 40 ;o)

it was a good win, but not great,... I mean damn, shane was beat by cotto and stuggled against mayorga, beat an overrated margarito..

truth is, Mayweather beat a dangerous near 40 year old fighter, who aint fought in a year

only chance mosely had was to catch him and when ur near 40 against maybe the best defensive fighter ever, those odds are VERY slim

why people dont see this is beyond me...but still a good win for mayweather, but too highly exagerated of a win for him

i wouldve given mayweather for fighting and beating berto more credit...but thats just me.

and the funny thing is...that mayweather sr is still promoting "who, you mean the dirty pacquiao"?

i mean, come on...sr been to jail for doing/dealing drugs...and just recently, roger mayweather looks like he will be going to jail for a while for beating a woman...and just recently as well, floyd jr was involved in connection with a shooting incident...so instead of bringing up pac being dirty without proof, he needs to focus on the problems of his own mayweather clan...problems that are valid, not just made up without proof

While this is all true it doesn't contradict any of the points I made. Everybody called for Mayweather to fight a "legit welterweight" and most crowned Mosley as the legit welterweight before the fight. In fact a ridiculous amount of people on this very board were convinced that Floyd would duck Mosley, and many cited him as a better opponent than Pacquiao.

Mayweather not only fought him but almost shut him out completely - while fighting toe to toe!

As for the Ring ratings, I thought Mosley was #1 but i guess not. Still though, Mosley was the man who beat the man (etc.) and had the best claim to welterweight lineage. Out of interest was Pacquiao promoted to #1 after the Cotto fight or the Clottey fight?

pacquiao was rated #1 by THE RING after he whooped cotto (and considering that cotto beat mosley makes pacs beating of cotto that much more impressive)...pac maintained #1 after whooping clottey...the only way there is a undisputed welterweight lineal champ by THE RING standard is if #1 vs #2 or in some cases #3...
so with that said, mosley was #2 and mayweather #3 does not make this fight for undisputed welterweight...it only flip flopped their rankings with mosleys welterweight ranking falling behind cotto

im not gonna say who will win if both pac and mayweather should fight...im just gonna say it should be a great fight...unlike most people here will say one fighter would beat the other easily...which is ridiculous
