    ESPN's reporting: Possible Ruiz-Mcbride Matchup

Talks with Don King, Mcbride's handelers, and Ruiz's have been going on for a possible matchup in the Boston Area for Ruiz-Mcbribe fight. Ruiz grew up in the Boston area and Mcbride now lives here.

I loving this news because I would like to get the chance to see a world heavyweight championship fight in my neck of the woods even though Ruiz isn't the most entertaining fighter and Mcbride is a journeyman. What do you guys think of this matchup? IMO Don King sees this as an easy fight for Ruiz, while capitalizing on the recent success of Mcbride by upsetting(and retiring) Mike Tyson.

I think it is crap and garbage especially when more deserving fighters are in Ruiz's top ten for the belt he holds. I believe a unification with Byrd should have been acted upon since both fighters dont have any future plans.

However I am sure they would have a great undercard. Although would anyone really pay for this? Ruiz always fights on ppv most of the time. The fight stinks but we might get Judah vs Margarito on the undercard (how is that for breaking news) so all is well.

But it stinks and I would predict a late stoppage by Ruiz.

Also this angers me because Mcbride hasnt dont squat to get a shot especially with the top 10 ratings for the WBA and Mcbride still isnt ranked.

          John Ruiz
          1. Hasim Rahman
          2. James Toney
          3. Lanc Whitaker
          4. Mont Barrett
          5. Nicolay Valuev
          6. Corri Sanders
          7. Andrew Golota
          8. Jameel Mccline
          9. Faruq Saleem
          10. Owen Beck
          11. Larry Donald
          12. Gerald Nobles
          13. Wladimir Klitschko
          14. Lua Krasniqi
          15. Sinan Samil Sam

From a boxing fan's point of view; since Byrd is due for a fight and Ruiz has cried out for unification it would seem logical that these two fighters would schedule a fight this summer. A Byrd-Ruiz matchup would generate alot of interest since the IBF and WBA titles would be up for unification. But boxing is seldom logical and Don King is in the mix so us (heavyweight) boxing fans usually never get to see the matchup we want nowadays. That's life.

Whats the problem? Ruiz faced Golota than James Toney, in a row, I think he could fight whoever now, dont you?

If this fight comes off I am rooting for an earthquake to shift some plates around and swallow Johnny and Kevin up...**** I forgot it needs to get King and Stoney too.
