It's called outboxing someone. When you're in a fight you're under no obligation to give your enemy a chance at victory.

If Mayweather pot shots Shane, it's Shane's responsibility to make that an ineffective way to win. If he can't find a solution that problem and loses in a one sided fight, he was essentially dominated.
