He was holding onto the rope with both hands down, and took 2-4 bombs head on. He was done, and the ref doesn't need to pay attention to time. He stops it when it needs to, and it needed to.

I personally thought he was open for that punch the entire fight.

I understand where the OTS is coming from. These days fights may prove to be stopped too early or too late depending on the situation. I will agree that after watching the video hasegawa was fine as soon as he stood up BUT I still feel that if he would've continuedto be beat on with those bombs the outcome could* have been worse. For example in sparring I've been beat within a matter of a couple shots by camacho JR in exactly 3 seconds when it felt like an hour to me and although I was perfectly fine when y coach stopped it I concede that if JR had gone even 2 seconds longer I wouldve been in a WORLD of trouble. So event though I see where you're coming from I can agree that the ref had enough reason to stop something which could have ended much worse. Much respects and congratulations to Montiel and much respects to Hasegawa who is also a fighter I like. Peace

I'll start. He took 3-4 big unanswered shots with both hands down, and hanging onto the ropes. He would have went down if not for the ropes. With a one minute break, I don't know that he would have recovered enough. I think he gets KO'd either way. He would have been better of letting go of the ropes, and falling.

If that fight was in the middle of the round and the beating along the ropes was 10 seconds or more, I wouldn't complain.

But everyone can hear the 10 second warning at the end of the round and for Cole to steal the fight from Hasegawa like that is wrong.

I hate that some incompetent hack ref can interfere and change the outcome of a guys career with his ****** judgment.

Richard Steele ruined Meldrick Taylors life doing that.

I hope the same doesn't happen to Hozumi and they make an immediate rematch.
