Doesn't matter if there was 3:00 minutes left or 1 second left, the stoppage was correct. If Hasagawa didn't want it stopped he should have protected himself and moved off the ****ing ropes.

If boxing is gonna start being reffed and handled this way, classic fights will no longer be possible because everyone is terrified of letting a fight go on these days.

      The pussification of boxing continues.

Soon it will be illegal to fight with a damn cut.

      Mark my mother****ing words.

        He was weathering the storm.

        And stayed on his feet.

You don't stop a fight w/ 1 ****ing second to go in the round.

Use some common ****ing sense man. Hazegawa looked fine to me. He even protested.

I thought I saw the ref being Lawrence Cole which only makes this all worse.

How anyone could hire that piece of **** to ref a fight with his wack ass track record is beyond me.

As a champion especially, Hasegawa deserves the chance to show his mettle.

Boxing is such a femme ****ing sport now that if a guy gets knicked once, the ***** ref jumps in to try and prove how ****ing humane he is.

          **** that.

I don't watch boxing to see f@ggotry. This fight had the makings of a classic war and this turd deprived everyone of it.
how is the ref suppose to know what time it is in the fight?

I"m not trying to discredit Montiel's win, it is just that I've never been high on Hasagawa and have never understood the hype he got from KO'ing nobodies. I knew Montiel would win, it is the first real step up in class Hasagawa has had, and even then Montiel is on the down trend. Whatever though, what I thought would happend happend.

How bout, in order to beat the champion you lay him out on his back.

                How bout that?
                how about no?
only reason why hasegawa didnt go down was becuz he was caught on the ropes.
                proper stoppage.
the ref isnt supposed to take time or fight magnitude into consideration when stopping the fight. only way he's supposed to make a call such as stopping the fight was becuz of what happened during the action.
and what happened was hozumi was taking multiple shots to the head while in a defenseless position. he made the right call.

No he wasn't weathering the storm, he was taking solid power shots to the head while his head had no support and his body was being kept up right only by the ropes.

Considering the fact that Hasegawa was winning the fight, it makes it even worse.

If he had been taking a beating up to that point, you guys would have a better argument.

But he was winning the fight. Montiel escaped with a win.
