after hatton floyd should have fought cotto which well always come back to haunt him when taking a look at his legacy.
I'm sorry but Hatton was nowhere near the level of prime Cotto. I'm English and it's a disgrace to Cotto to say that. How long would Hatton have lasted against a bricked up Margarito and Roid Raged Mosely? I'm guessing 3 rounds combined and that's being generous.

Fact is. Floyd knew it was an easy nights work for a cool $20M+.

Exactly, thats what you call selective hating! Old man Sergio beat up 28 yr old Pavlik and nobody says **** about age. So as floyd fights somebody its oh he is old and washed up. Hell now days fighters are actually getting better with age. Good Post by the TS by the way. All Facts and no bs opinion.

Well can't blame him for that people on here may say different but they would be the same 20 m for a easy fight or 20m (maybe less) for a very hard fight. Also Hatton did something Cotto never did by calling Floyd out.. i think the "you have just seen more action in 4 rounds then in all of floyd fights put together" comment pissed off Floyd

Yer, that's what I'm saying. Cotto didn't have a goal like Hatton did - shame.

Ricky Hatton - #1 ranked Lineal LWW champion, on the p4p list, undefeated.

JM Marquez - #1 ranked Lineal LW champion, p4p2 (or p4p1 as most felt be beat Pacquaio) - coming off two KO wins over opponents who previously were never KO'd.

Shane Mosley - #1 ranked WW Champion, p4p3. Coming off two brutal KO wins at 154 and 147 against the previous #1 WW.

                Next up:

                Manny Pacquaio!
Shane means a lot more than Floyd's last opponents. I think he should get minimal credit for beating Baldomir & JMM. I don't care where Baldomir was rated, he wasn't that good and neither was Hatton above 147. JMM jumped 12 pounds in weight against Mayweather.

How well would a young Cotto deal with the Kostya Tsyzu that Ricky beat?

You can argue about Marquez, but Hatton weighed more in the ring than Mayweather. If anything, Hatton not having to drain himself to make 140 was beneficial to him. If the fight was at 140lb, both would have entered the ring at their nature weights anyway, with Hatton still being bigger. Mayweather never hydrated over 149lb in a WW fight which is less than what most LWW's weigh in the ring.
