i can see how the stoppage can be fustrating and thats what i was when i saw it..but then i watched it again....he took alot of hard unprotected punches to the head while he was tied up on the ropes and im started to think even though it was one second left i consider it a good stoppage...because i dont even think he couldve recovered in the short amount of time after...

A double left hand was what hurt Hasegawa. It seems like Hasegawa was actually tangled up on the ropes rather than him holding onto them. I would have liked to see the fight continue but it was a dangerous situation. One more solid punch on a defenseless fighter could leave him seriously hurt.

its a fair stoppage. for all we know the ref may have been off on his count and thought there 4 seconds left.

a lot can happen to you in 3-4 unprotected seconds

I dont know why some people are saying it was a bad stoppage. Montiel was unloading on Hasegawa who was hurt and exposed. Hasegawa would have been seriously ****ed if the ref hadnt saved him, Montiel was about to land some huge uppercuts on his chin but the ref stepped in just in time to prevent that. good stoppage, props to montiel for getting the job done

Hasegawa would had been better off dropping to the floor. He was out on his feet so don't think he could had access what was happening to him. I wouldn't mind a rematch cause it was apparent that it was competitive till that point

                  Good win for Montiel

Hasegawa was out, man. That was a perfectly fine stoppage in my book.

On a side note, I thought the Japanese were supposed to be peaceful observers Or is that another stereotype
like his head bouncing around like a ping pong ball? Hasegawa was winning though, a rematch would be nice.
