I had a feeling this would happen. Some thought Hasegawa would be the one to score the stoppage but Montiel is one of the best punchers in the lower weight classes. One of the best in the last 10-20 years in fact.

Hasegawa is the better all around fighter in my opinion but Montiel has the great equalizer. Huge win for him and now you (we) have to start talking about this guy for an eventual hall of fame bid once his career is finished.

          Oh Flicker......where you at?

I told you guys....I mean I don't have a problem with other people or most people picking or even liking Hasegawa more than Montiel.....it was the way you guys went about it saying how he was "dead meat" or how he was in for a beating or that he wouldn't last more than 6 rounds...**** like that disrespecting the 3 division champ like he was some bum!!!That's what makes the victory all the more sweeter
I saw a lot of this too. Montiel is no joke and he proved it.

              Wow. Cong**** to Montiel.

I mean, I wanted Hasegawa to win because he might fight in the US and make a name after this fight. But he failed.

Before the fight, most observers favored Hasegawa to win over Montiel.

Heck i think most of us posters were 80% Hasegawa and 20% Montiel.

Props for Montiel for keeping his cool and brilliantly executed his gameplan, i thought Hasegawa won the first 3 rounds before the stoppage.

Japan should be crying right about now. First was Kameda and now Hasegawa...

30-27 and 29-28 twice all for Hasegawa.
