I think I didn't write my statement properly. The thing is that Floyd always says that he's better than Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali because he never delves into a logical reason why he thinks he's better. It's his right to believe he's better but the only reason he believes he's better than those two is that he's undefeated. He hasn't even finished his career yet. He always brings up his belief that Ali lost to Ken Norton but never brings up that Ali fought the most feared man in boxing (George Foreman) and he beat him handily.

And why would boxing writers fry his ass for Floyd having a few losses on his record? Just because he has a mouth? And who cares if Floyd had a few losses. It's how you come back from those losses that makes you great.

        So, tell me again,

since the media is so against Floyd, how did he win fighter of the year in 2007? A year in which he was part of the biggest money fight ever.
They had no choice. Why do you keep bringing up fighter of the year? So let me ask you something. How did he win fighter of the year in 2007 but the media keeps saying he hasn't fought anybody legit at welterweight? Wasn't he fighting at welterweight in 2007? So you vote someone fighter of the year who hasn't fought anybody? My point is they pick and choose when to like floyd. Just be consistent. Stop loving him in 2007 but hate in 2110.

Which one is it. How do you explain your greatness without comparing your accomplishments against others? You say delve into logical reason. You can't do that without debate. If he delves into logical reasons he's discrediting other fighters. He can't win for losing. If i say I'm better than you, I' m gonna tell you why, how and anything else to make my point.

Dude you sound crazy. Any fighter would tell you to hit and not get hit. It's just that most don't have Floyd's defensive skill set. Trust me if that defence was common you would see alot of fighters doing it.

There is a big big difference between Ali and Floyd. Ali fought against opponents who were favoured and some were favoured heavily. The names you displayed pale in comparison to Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Kenny Norton, Larry Holmes, Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson.... He fought them when he had no losses, he fought them when he came back from retirement, he fought them when he was at his prime and when he was not.

Instead you bring up names such as Baldomir? Or how about those other boxers that Floyd fought at welterweight but most if not all had there success in a lower weight class?

You fight the fighters in your era. Who would you favor today over Floyd?

                  1) The first point is that he hasn't fought that kind of competition. It's happened before with other fighters too, who really had no competition but its tough luck. You can get recognized as a (really) good boxer but you can't be in that class (ALI, SRR) Sorry.

                  2) What people believe is that there was better competition than Floyd fought.

                  3) Right fight, wrong time. He fought DelaHoya after he was out of his prime and into his 2nd carreer, Golden Boy Productions. Imagine, from the time he LOST to Hopkins to the time he fought Floyd, he only had 1 fight (Mayorga) to show for. That's almost 3 years!

                  4) Right fight, wrong time. He will be fighting Mosley. Mosley will be 39 in a few months and hasn't fought in 1.5 years. Still a tough fight but it's a lose lose situation for Floyd because of what I stated.

                  5) Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Paul Williams were all "duking" it out the last few years as welterweights. Instead Floyd went into retirement. So people thought Floyd was "ducking" it out.

                  6) Paquiao is a tricky one as he is not a legit welterweight but it appears that many would give Floyd credit for this one...... but Floyd could learn something from Pacquaio. Pacquiao fought big names at "his" weight divisions. In the last 2 years, he dominated (KOed) guys that were 1, 2 and 3 divisions higher than his usual. Remember that Paquiao was a Super featherweight just a couple of years ago. It gives the impression that he is willing to take the risks. Just as important, almost all of those fights he concluded them in exciting fashion. Each fight one wonders, is this the fight that Pacquaio took on too much? Each time he comes thru. Each fight Floyd takes does it leave the impression that Floyd took on too much?

                  7) If Floyd could fight what is believed to be a monster like George Foreman and beat him impressively like ALi did. When Ali won against Foreman people were shaking there heads in disbelief. Big risk bigger reward! Or fight trilogies like with Joe Frazier. That would be awesome! Those fights are classics and get replayed even 35 years later.

                  8) Floyd's style hurts him as it continues to imprint that impression that people already have of him (see above points), in that he is not a risk taker. Therefore, not deserving to get the high praise that he and his fans want. Every fight of late, you hear his corner say, "continue doing what you are doing,..... pot shot him."

                  9) In summary, Floyd, as good as he is, needs to do something that changes that impression people have of him before he can hit that stratosphere called Ali & SRR territory.
